There are not many 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville's out there that can truly be considered a collector's car. Buying a car like this is an investment and if your looking at a classic car like this with anything other than the original Cadillac motor with either dual 4 barrels or 3 deuces then your probably looking at either base equipment or worse still a restomod... which might make a little better daily driver, but as an investment it won't pay off long term like an all original car like this 57 Cadillac Eldorado!
The Cadillac Eldorado Seville is a hardtop coupe that was designed to be a companion model to the 57 Cadillac Biarritz. Looking at the pictures of this car you can see why the 57 Cadillac Eldorado is considered a piece of rolling art, it is one of the prettiest Cadillacs ever built! Viewing this car from a quartering rear view shows off the beauty of the car's fins.
The exterior is Starlight Silver Metallic and the upholstery is done in Blue with Black with Blue Paisley Cloth and with light blue metallic leather. (That is how it came from the factory). This car sports all of the emblems unique to the 1957 Cadillac Eldorado and the numbers match! From the working fog lamps in the front to the special stainless exhaust bullets in the rear exhaust tips, the 57 Cadillac Eldorado is a unique collectors car.Photos of the driver's and passenger's doors show the unique door panels of the Eldorado. The doors and window glass in this car is in very good condition. The courtesy lamps operate as expected, and so do the electric windows and 6 way power bench seat.
This car came with and still has the original 365 cubic inch V-8 with dual 4 barrel carburetors. The engine is rated at 325 horse power. Sitting atop the engine is the original bat wing air filter which is a collector's item in its own right and only came with the original dual 4 barrel carb setup from the factory.
The undercarriage photos show the new exhaust system and overall condition of the rocker panels. Shortly after purchasing this car I installed an electric fuel pump to help with cold starts after the car has set for extended periods of time without running. The front suspension of the car has a NEW steering box and all components that were worn beyond factory service limits have been replaced.
The tires are mounted on the Sabre aluminum wheels that it came with from the factory, and the tires have lots of tread left. The car has drum brakes front and rear that work as they should. The suspension system is in good working condition.
Visible in the photos of the interior you can see the dash and instrument cluster which absolutely shine! The headlights, parking lights, fog lights, turn signals, and brake lights all work as they should. The electric windows and seat work. The radio and clock look nice but are not functioning. Inside he glove box the electric trunk opener and it works as it should.
There are no tears in either seat and the center armrests are in good condition. The carpeting is in very good condition. The headliner is in fair condition with one seam in the headliner near the back window starting to split. The windshield wipers have a vacuum motor which doesn't appear to be working, but since I would never drive this car in the rain it wasn't an issue for me. A newer electric replacement motor is available for about $350.All of the instrument lights function as they should. The generator light glows at idle as you would expect, the trunk open light illuminates on the dashboard when the trunk lid isn't closed, and the fuel gauge and other engine instruments work as they should.
All of the cars original air conditioning components are present but no attempts have been made to operate it and its condition is unknown. I have put enough miles on this car in the two years I've owned it to know it would make a nice daily driver that get plenty of attention wherever I take it!
The trunk is fully carpeted, and the trunk latching mechanism has been repaired with a new micro switch, new brush springs, and a thorough cleaning and lubrication. There is a video of the trunk mechanism in action. The trunk torsion bars need to be adjusted to provide proper trunk lid balance.
One thing I can tell you for sure, this car rides like a Cadillac and has a surprising amount of pep for such a large car. The inside is so clean I hate to drive it with my shoes on (the trunk is even cleaner). The Cadillac tail fins first appeared in 1948... reportedly inspired by the P-38 lightning (a WWII era twin engine pursuit aircraft.) The fins continued to grow until they reached their maximum size in 1959 - In my humble opinion the 57 Cadillac is the most beautiful of all!
I am selling this car because I have too many project cars right now. I am about half way finished restoring another older Cadillac, I have a beautiful Jaguar I am finishing up, and a 71 Pontiac Grand Prix that is waiting patiently for me to restore her to showroom floor condition. I feel bad I don't have the time to give the Eldorado the attention she deserves
I am selling my Eldorado for $45,000... or you can find this car up for auction on eBay starting Sunday August 29th at 6 pm Pacific Coast Time. To track this auction go to eBay and search for a 57 Cadillac Eldorado Seville.
The car can be inspected prior to purchase in Toquerville, Utah. I am located just 2 hours north of Las Vegas and I have a lift in my garage to facilitate a thorough inspection. If you would like to ask me a question or request a photograph of any part of the car not shown in this ad, send me an email or text message and I will get the info or photo to you within 24 hours.
I would love to see this car go to a collector who can take her out to show her off occasionally and give her the time and attention she deserves! The person who does can look forward to owning a car in ORIGINAL condition whose price will most assuredly climb in the coming years.
