1976 Cadillac Eldorado
Convertible
For those that are unsure why these are so desirable,,, llow us to clarify;.
The 1976 model year for Cadillac was very special as it was announced that GM planned on its Cadillac Motor Division on producing a limited number of Cadillac Convertibles and to start spreading the word by private invites to current owners on the news offering them to order their last convertible from their esteemed automaker.
That news eventually set ablaze a buying frenzy with the initial orders coming in too quick and multiple units being ordered by same household.
Cadillac knows it was heart wrenching to extinguish thesegment however it was deemed necessary at the time, robably by some of the know-allcorporate pencil pushers...
There were plenty of offerings of colors and obviouslythey all had Caddy's best of options of the time.
TheBiCentennial Edition
was to spearhead the line up obviously followed by the all time favorite and ever so classy Black among the other colors.Let's face it, Drop-Top Caddy looks good nearly in every color! This particular Cadillac is what we would call asurvivor in a lot of ways.Original SheetmetalOriginalMonster 500ci V8 EngineOriginal InteriorOriginalnot yet flippedMilesOriginal Color Exterior and InteriorAll in all a very nice example of a desirable big Caddy Convertible. No matter what you're into; Parade Driving,Cruise Nights, aking your Loved Ones forLong WeekendTop Down Rides, r simply just going from A to Z and every letter in between in Style. This Caddy is one Cool Ride.Very Solid car overall with a good underbody, loors, nd trunk.Paint has plenty of shine and body lines are great!Of course nothing is ever perfect under discriminating eyesand if you want to pick it apart you will notice some bubbling slightly ahead of rear wheels on wheel well opening. (very common on GM convertibles as the top drains ahead of rear wheels)The interior, hough in great shape and in white has a few small and easily repaired splits in the covereddoor panels. The car cruises effortlessly down the road and highway giving that un-mistakable floating ride and providing plenty of comfort. We noticed the power seat binds once in a while and may need repair. The hood ornament is missing, lso easily attainable. The top has been professionaly replaced and is correct. The 8-Track Stereo Radio works great and this Caddy comes with a few 8-tracks stashed in the glove box for your listening pleasure. In 1976 GM heavily promoted the Eldorado convertibles as "the last American convertible". Some 14,000 would be sold, any purchased as investments. The final 200 were designated as "Bicentennial Edition" commemorating America's 200th birthday. These cars were white with a dual-color red/blue pinstripe along the upper bodyside. When GM reintroduced Eldorado convertibles for the 1984 model year, wners of 1976 Eldorados felt they had been deceived and launched an unsuccessful class action lawsuit.Thank you for looking at our listing.Good LuckandHappy Bidding!
