1962 Cadillac Convertible Series 62 Convertible

Here in this listing we have a nice clean 62' caddy convertible series 62. Please call me with any questions 516-250-26051962 was the 60th anniversary year for Cadillac. '62s were basically toned-down '61s. 1962 highlights were still-lower fins, ront-fender cornering lights, somewhat tamer grille, nd backup/turn/stop lights combined behind a single white lens. A new braking system with a dual master cylinder and separate front and rear hydraulic lines also appeared, welcome safety feature.This 1962 Cadillac Series 62 convertible was repainted about 10 years ago using a modern base coat/clear coat system. Refinished in the original white, t retains its original red leather interior and door panels. The top was replaced along with the standard for 1962 plastic rear window. It is in perfect condition. The carpets were replaced with correct 80/20 loop in the original red color after the paint work. Any body work done was done prior to my acquisition so I know little about the condition of the body prior to the repaint. Two small areas in the front floors about the size of a grapefruit were repaired with new steel, elded in and sealed before undercoating. No repairs were needed in the trunk floor an area known to be weak indicating the car was solid to start with. (See pics of trunk) The rear floors are without issue also. Some minor repairs were made to the back edge of the trunk which is now showing some lifting. It is fully functional as is at this time. Overall, he car is straight with good body lines and gaps.It was painted about 10 years ago, rior to painting, he engine and transmission were removed and the transmission rebuilt by a long time Cadillac technician very familiar withHydramatictransmissions. The transmission works without issue. The engine was cleaned, alve cover gaskets replaced and reinstalled. No known mechanical updates were done to my knowledge.The braking system was rebuilt with new wheel cylinders and shoes and refinished the drums. New ball joints, ie rod ends and a drag link were installed and the front end aligned. A new exhaust system from the Y-pipe rearward was installed. The window mechanisms including the motors were all rebuilt and they work great. I also rebuilt the 6-way power seat mechanism to full functionality. The lights, rake lights, orn, ipers and turn signals work as they should. The original Rochester four-barrel carburetor was rebuilt, nd installed was new points, ap, ires, park plugs and made all the adjustments to a good tune. The car starts extremely easily and has never failed me.I have the car listed locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells outside of eBay.
