Before the minivan and the SUV there was the family wagon! Drive something with style and substance, this Buick is an elegant alternative to the boring and mundane garbage out there. Tailgating parties, soccer games, pulling a trailer. You will be turning heads in this one. When was the last time you saw one this clean and nice?
The Electra Estate Wagon was the most luxurious of all the 1980's wagons. Buick offered a LeSabre Estate that was a lower trim level and was essentially equivalent to the Olds, Pontiac, and Chevy offerings. The Electra Estate was a notch above all of them and represented the only true luxury wagon in it's day. The interior of this car is particularly plush and finished in Buick's top-of-the-line Electra trim. A fully loaded Electra Estate was more expensive than a new Cadillac in it's day. And this one is fully loaded.
Beyond all the standard luxuries that came as standard on the Electra this one also has the following extra cost goodies, virtually every factory option offered (and everything works!):
Dual six way seats with power passenger recliner
Electronic Touch Climate Control AC
Twilight Sentinel -- auto on/off headlamps
Cornering lamps
Front fender light monitors
Top offering AM/FM Cassette with equalizer and DOLBY
Rear window defroster
Power mirrors both sides
Locking wire wheel covers

I have owned several of these over the years and this is one of the nicest I have come across. It is very difficult to find one for sale in any condition, and most are completely trashed. This is a truly pampered and original car. The typical cosmetic weak spots on these cars are the exterior 'wood' and the interior 'wood' door caps. The exterior wood on this car is very good with little fade AND all panels match in color. No paint or body work ever on this car. The interior door caps are usually bleached out and peeling, not this one. They look great and are evidence of the garaged care it has always had.
The car is rust free, it runs and drives as good as it looks, tight and smooth
These wagons are super reliable but the one weak spot mechanically is the transmission. It typically went out at around 100k miles. Sure enough, this one was rebuilt at 96,958. A brand new Edelbrock carb was installed at 97,220 miles.
In the last 100 miles I have also done the following:
Installed four brand new radials with correct 1" white walls.
New Radiator/Thermostat/coolant installed
New GM/New Old Stock tailgate latches installed (hard to find!) Tailgate works perfectly both ways (traditional fold down, and out like a door)
New muffler and tailpipe
Fresh lube oil and filter
I have all records for the above and more.
This car is originally from Vancouver BC and therefore its odometer was in kilometers It was changed out for a an american odometer. The above mileage is converted from km to miles. The car has 102k miles, etc. The speedometer shows both KMH and MPH. The car was built in the USA for Canadian sale but meets all US Federal Standards, so there was no problem titling it the USA I have clear AK state title in my name and in hand.
I was in the process of perfecting this car and it needs only 1 small molding that I have located and is included in the sale to be perfectI am a 1980's car collector with 6 cars and am retiring and moving out of Alaska. Unfortunately I need to sell the wagon Try finding another one this nice. it will take you 4-5 years, as that is how long it took me to find this one. With a full purchase price of $6,500 I will put $500 toward shipping to Seattle Tacoma.
