Hi Everybody, here we have one of the best Buick Electra Estate Wagons from 1986 that we have ever seen. We are just the third believed registered owner! This Woody is a thing of wonder, displaying just above 32K on the odometer. The mileage is believed to be correct and is backed up from a car fax with records dating back to 1992. The mileage is listed at 15,030, and this also corresponds with old emissions records. This time capsule is truly a vehicle to step back and marvel.
The last owner was survived by his wife who had taken loving care of this wagon and would pay attention to every detail. The car was always garaged and only taken out during nice sunny days. The family decided that after a few years of being mostly stored that it should pass on to the next owner who would take the special care that this wagon deserves.
Curb appeal, she's got plenty. The paint holds deep, strong and glossy. But upon close inspection you will find very small flaws as this is also believed to be mostly original paint. The wood panels are quite impressive. Most other estate wagons of this vintage would be peeling and scored by the many years of parking lot shopping cart abuse or arrant soccer balls. Very few small imperfections can be found. Chrome around the car is very bright and clear, the trim is straight and true, only a small bend can be found on the passenger side front door. The glass on the car is nice and clear with only tiny chips and a very faint scratch here and there.
We were amazed to find that nearly everything electrical on the wagon works. Even the climate control works as should, and that is pretty amazing as most do not. Windows go up and down easily, seats adjust forward, aft and tilt, original radio plays with old 80s speakers (most likely also original), radio antenna extends fully and retracts into its' home, lights all work, fans blow, gauges operate as they should. The only thing that we could find that was not in working condition was the electronic passenger mirror adjustment. The rear window rolls down with the handle on the back or with the button, and even the fasten seat belt light popped on when not connected.
She starts right up and drives only like a low mileage vehicle can. When heading down the highway this Buick wagon feels like you're riding on a cloud. The transmission shifts smoothly and functions properly. No road noises to report, just smooth sailing. We have added around 100 miles to the car with no drama at all, and I also believe that the air suspension is working as should.
Underneath the car you will see that it is quite nice as is the engine bay. Very small amounts of road grime and dirt cover the bottom as the car did not see many rainy days. The only flaw that we found was that the exhaust pipe had rust through in one location near the very rear. The engine bay is amazingly clean and did not show leaks or any problems to report.
If you're looking to participate in a car show or would like to add this Estate Wagon to your collection you will find that these vehicles are on the rise. More and more of those in there mid 30s are reminiscing about riding backwards in the jump seat and going on family vacations. When driving or sitting in the wagon it was hard not to find ourselves lost in a memory traveling with our own families. We are pleased to present the opportunity to own this 1986 Buick Electra Estate Wagon as a wonderful example of a low mileage, original car, with all the character that the 80s could bring. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding!
