Car description

I think it's time to sell my BMW. It was a bucket list car for me that I have owned for 5 years and I just don't get to drive enough.

This will be a long add because I believe in full disclosure, everything I know about the car I will be putting in here. I'll put the major details in short up top and go in to the history for anyone still interested.

91 auto v12, factory parallels, car phone, antenna, brochure, I believe I even have the window sticker. Light interior, black exterior with m color pinstripes. Drilled rotors but otherwise 100% stock. No accidents that I know of. Car lives year round in a climate controlled garage under a BMW cover. Never even sees rain.

Paint is original and pretty good for a 25+ year old car, very slight fade on the front edge of the trunk lid. And some minor scratches that will probably buff out, only one real scratch on the pass side very front edge of the fender. See pic.

Interior is pretty good as well with a few exceptions. Dr seat was reupholstered 3 years ago and is very nice, pass seat looks worn by comparison, although no tears or anything. Back seats pretty nice, don't think they have ever been used. Headliner professionally redone this summer. Panel where sunroof switch is has broken clips-see pics-and is currently just hanging. Couple pixels out on the info center and a pixel bleed on the stereo.(these can be sent out and fixed pretty cheap but it never bothered me)

Mechanically the car is very good, but this is where the story gets long. I bought the car off the 2nd owner out of cape cod. When I bought it there was a rod sticking through the side of the block. So I bought another engine from a junkyard in Pennsylvania with 88k and got to work. I am very capable and thorough(Honda tech in a previous life) and have a lift at my house. I dropped the engine and trans with the subframe, and swapped to the new engine. But before I did that the new engine got all new pan gaskets, valve cover gaskets, ex and intakes manifold gaskets, front cover gaskets, tensioners, belts, plugs, wires, caps and rotors, hoses, mounts, basically anything that was easier to do with the engine out got done along with a lot of cleanup. Transmission got new mounts, pan gasket, filter and output shaft seal. New batterys. Did new power steering pump as well as new fuel filters. I'm sure there are lots of little things I'm forgetting here but you get the idea. No lights on dash, car purrs. Not many 850 owners can say they leak no engine oil.

So it does need a few things, but as you can see above most of the money has already been spent. Here are the things I know it needs or are notable.

Heater core-I'm not 100% sure this is the culprit but it has a slight coolant smell inside that just started and that usually means heater core. I've already purchased the oem replacement and it comes with the car I just haven't found time to install.

Knock in suspension under braking- I think this is actually a bushing in the rear suspension, I've already purchased 4 to start doing a rear suspension rebuild but again haven't gotten to it, they come with the car.

Pixels in stereo- couple out.

Pass outer handle micro switch- doesn't bring window down a little, virtually never have a passenger so I hadn't got to fixing.

Sunroof switch panel- as mentioned above has broken clips.

Trans line leak-slight slow leak i think from where one of the cooler lines meets the trans, haven't investigated.

Pentosin seep- from under the filter, slow but new hose would likely fix.

Ac recharge- I never recharged after the engine swap.

Battery drain- this may not be a real issue but if I let the car sit for a month+ its weak or dead, like I said I don't drive it enough. Both battery's test good and charging system works perfectly, so there's either a little parasitic drain or it's completely normal, haven't investigated.

Cd changer- never used it, it could work or not, no idea.

This is everything I can remember, if anything else pops into my head I'll update accordingly.
