Car description |

You are looking at a 1991 BMW E34 M5. This is a rare car. It is the last of the hand built M5s. It is mechanically perfect. Cosmetically challenged. It is an absolute thrill to drive. It has a old fashioned mechanical way about it that makes today's appliance cars seem boring. Above 4000 RPM the noises will make your hair stand up. I have spent at least 15K renovatingthe car mechanically.. The car is smooth all the way to autobahn speeds. It rides on Michelin Super Sport Tires (Fronts 40% Rears - BRAND NEW). Real 17" BMW throwing star forged wheels. Not cheap cast knock offs.
I did not buy this car to be a garage queen.I wanted a car that I would never hesitate to drive. My intent was to restore that car back to factory. Mechanically mission accomplished. Cosmetically I just haven't gotten around to it. I have some other projects I am working on and my eye on an E60 M5 which would fit in better as a daily driver for me. I currently drive an S8 daily.
I replaced the awful dove white interior with a grey market euro M5 full leather black interior. It was expensive to ship it all from California to South Carolina. The front seats are SOOO much lighter than the old power seats. The front seats are still heated. This also involved replacing the entire dash with the black replacement. The ultimate black floor matsare from Bav Auto. This car was originally from Chicago. It has some rust, dents and scratches on the doors. Since I intended to repaint the car and didn't want to do body work I located a donor BMW 525i that donated three of its doors. I used the euro black M5 interior door panels to replace the tan panels the doors came with. Thats why those doors are different shade of white. . The drivers door is original. It is in good shape. The rest of the panels are original to the car. . Right now it looks like a 525i with M5 wheels. Nobody drives up on this car and thinks its an M5. When you are trying to stay under the radar thats a good thing.
The R134 A/C is ice cold. No leaks. No issues. The car is pre-wired for a Valentine One radar detector (why buy anything else).
In the last 15k miles it has the following work done by Century BMW in Greenville SC. If you need a reference, call and ask to speak to shop foreman. He will know Brian's M5 as it lived there for a long time during its renovation. They are the ones that did all mechanical work and swapped the interior.
Only the two senior technicians have ever worked on the car there. One of those guys now works at the BMW Performance Center here in Greenville.
All parts are brand name parts - Lemforder, Bosch. Balo, or genuine BMW. You are buying a car that has already had all the typical stuff replaced with brand new factory or high end aftermarket parts. Nothing was done cheap and all work was done by Century BMW in Greenville SC. It was expensive but the results are amazing. You will not find a nicer driving M5 period.

Other modificationsSLS was removed by previous owner. Shocks were replaced with 540i shocks. Full Black Leather Interior from a grey market euro M5.The smog pump has been bypassed with a shorter belt and a 735i mount for the AC. Doors do have 525i mirrors which makes the car blend in.....Exhaust was replaced with another stock exhaust system from a wrecked M5. This was also done at the dealership.New Shift Lever with illuminated M logo.
If I were going to keep the car I would replace the front bumper cover, paint the entire car (using a excellent body shop), retint the windows, refurbish the wheels (cosmetically) and replace the front fog light and left front passenger marker light. THATS IT!
I urge you to come take a test drive and see the car for yourself. Please ask questions. I have a full lift in my shop and I can take pictures of anything you desire. Please ask questions! My feedback speaks for itself. Good luck!
