This is an awesome 1993 BMW 525i touring wagon up for grabs. Great project BMW or excellent parts vehicle. Was hoping to restore this beast but have too many other projects on the table right now. That said here is the run down on this machine:
The car runs and drives. Pulls pretty strong. 206,284 miles. Transmission is a little weak when it is cold but is fine after running for a minute or two and feels strong on the road. Might just need a flush and some fresh fluid, might just be the age. It has a gas line leak in the rear that will need to be repaired before this car can be driven anywhere far (can be test driven nearby if need be)...hence you should bring a trailer. The body is pretty decent for a New England car. It did spend much of its life garaged to my knowledge in Connectivut. Small rust on rear hatch, rockers and around the vehicle. No noticeable serious rust but will need a full going over. Trim side molding is loose in places. The overall paint is worn and shows it's age. The hood is totally oxidized. Started to buff out the one side but gave up...hood will need to be repainted which is fine because there is a little ding on the hood anyway. Interior is dirty and the driver's side seat needs some stitching work. Could clean up much better. Windshield is cracked. Passenger side rear door quarter window is broken out and gone. Rear hatch lock mechanism is loose and needs to be reinstalled. Glove box does not shut. Onboard computer and odometer is typically intermittent but was working the day we shot the photos! Headliner is...gone... Has a nice aftermarket CD/MP3 deck. Has a set of matched OEM BMW BBS wheels with Michelin Exalto A/S 225/55R16 tires on it (tires are getting a little dry). No center caps to be seen for the wheels though. Front air dam is intact with the fog lights in place. Bumpers are good. No keys for ski rack but has all the proper pieces for mounting. Original books.
So in a nutshell, it is a mixed bag of good and bad. The car certainly has potential for restoration or would make an excellent parts car if you are a fan of the E34 Touring wagons. Either way, it is what it is. If no one loves it enough on here to make a reasonable offer, we will restore it at a future date or part it down when we get the chance. Clean title. Can help arrange shipping if needed. AS IS AS SEEN.
