Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer this Handsome 1948 Bentley Mark VI! This is basically an original example that has been loved and maintained as necessary over it's 70 year lifetime! It runs and drives quite well, and is sure to make it's next owner very proud!!
We were lucky enough to acquire it from a long time friend, and ex-car dealer. He recently spent about $8000.00 at the local Bentley dealer to make it drivable after years of storage. They rebuilt the carbs, and replaced the fuel tank. It got a rebuilt master cylinder, brake servo, and front wheel cylinders. It now runs and drives well, and can be enjoyed as is.
The exterior shows nicely. The paint is nice and shiny!! There has been some repairs and paintwork done over the years, as expected. There are pictures below of the bubbly door bottoms, and rust repaired sills(Rocker panels). There is some slight rust through on the under body. The Chrome and brightwork is very nice, and shines well. The tyres are Firestone Radials, and are in great condition. I do not know the age, but will check during auctions course.
The interior in our Mark VI is just lovely! I am told that the rear seat and door panels are original. They are just beautiful, especially in a 70 year old car!! The front seat has probably been done, along with carpets and headlining. As you will see in the many photos below, It looks fantastic!! The wood trim appears to be original, and is just as nice as the rest of the interior. All electrics and gauges function, with the exception of the gas gauge, and the trafficators. The odometer is only a five digit, so we assume that the mileage is over 100,000. We have a Pa. title that says exempt for mileage.
We have driven this Bentley extensively!!! We drove it about 30 miles from my office to Schenley Park and back for the Annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, in early July, where it took second place in the Bentley class!! We drove it at highway speeds with no issues. It just purrs at speed!! The engine starts withe ease, and runs beautifully. No smoke, or unpleasant noises. The 4 Speed manual transmission is the same! Shifts well, with no noise, ar grinding. It's a Very easy car to drive, and is said to be one of the most dependable Bentleys ever built!!!
