1954 Bentley type R.Optional. Original 4 speed AUTOMATIC. Factory sunroof.
Recently pulled out of LONG TERM storage. Restored in 1990. Major restoration included, chrome, paint, interior glass and wood. Mechanical restoration including rebuild of carbs, brakes and fuel system in 1990. Records indicate $25k to do the restoration .The car sat in a warehouse in Manhattan till it was purchased from the estate. It was last registered in 1993. We decided to revive it as follows: Drained fuel, cleaned carbs, replaced fuel pump, cleaned and gaped points, changed the oil, replaced tires, replaced battery. The car starts, runs and drives. Automatic transmission shifts in all gears. Has very good acceleration. All four forward speeds on the original automatic transmission shift fine at the proper shift points. The car accelerated to 60 mph with out a problem as shown in the video. No smoke on startup. Reverse gear works fine. Cold start is very good. . Excellent oil pressure. Excellent water temperature. All gauges work. Car Has excellent paint, excellent restored wood, excellent leather. Solid body. Exhaust is noisy, will need exhaust. All lights work. Turn signal lights work inside. Wipers works. Mechanical turn signals. Radio works fine but aftermarket Sony. Cigarette lighter and ashtray are clean, non smoker car. Solid undercarriage. Will always need some sort of attention but overall very nice car. Extra keys are with vehicle.
