Up for sale we have a 1973 Javelin AMC. This is my fathers car and he has owned it for the past 27 years. Like with any antique car there is a lot of history but I will try to disclose everything I can. The body engine transmission and drivetrain are all original. We had the following parts installed- Wheels tires flowmaster exhaust reupholstered seats carpet interior stereo and speakers. I'm sure I am forgetting something. We had the car painted 12 years ago but it's not a $10k paint job. There are some scratches runs flakes etc. The worst part is the lower rear quarter panel behind the rear wheel. The paint looks bubbly from the body rusting down there. I don't think there is any rust on the body anywhere else but there is some rust underneath the car though. The car has a 304ci engine with an automatic transmission with B&M shifter. The car runs and drives. The car starts up and runs with no issues. It sounds really good with the flowmaster exhaust. The transmission shifts without problem. I think the car speaks for itself in the pictures it's a beautiful car. But from here I'm going to try to list all the bad about the car. I'm listing these things to help give the buyer a better idea of issues that may not be visible in the pictures. I know it is difficult to buy a car online and is even more difficult when it is a 42 year old car. There are two important things that will need to be addressed right away. The car was parked over the winter and when we took it out this spring the brakes were locked up. I have heard that this is common on older cars with drum brakes. We were able to free up the brakes but now when you try to stop the brake pedal is very stiff. You have to press the pedal very hard to stop the car. The car obviously needs a brake job I'm not sure if the issue is with the drums or possibly just needs bleeding or maybe an issue with the master cylinder. The brakes were working fine before it was parked. The second issue is that the radiator cap appears to not be sealing correct. After a short drive we opened the hood and noticed the cap was bubbling a little. We thought about going ahead and replacing the cap but the neck where the cap goes looks like it is separating some. It looks like it may be leaking just a hair from the neck as well as the cap. So my opinion is that the radiator needs to be replaced. We have seen aftermarket ones on ebay for $159. I will say that this original radiator has been repaired many years ago. The odometer reads 81832 but the speedometer and odometer have not been working for a few years. This is not a highly driven car so the mileage that is unknown cannot exceed a few thousand miles at the most. We did purchase a new speedometer cable for the car but have never installed it due to fear of removing the dash. I'm sure it's obvious by now that we are not mechanics and we do not have deep pockets to sink a lot of money into repairs. With this said I will also mention that the a/c compressor was removed probably 15 years ago so there is no a/c. The mounts and pulley are there so I would assume installing working parts would fix this. That is the car in a nutshell. There are also smaller things such as a small chipped piece on the dash broken vents some door sag one inch tear in the headliner that's all that comes to mind. CLEAN TITLE. VIN:A3C797H342040 Due to the year many of these cars do not have titles. This one has a clean TX title that is transferable in your name as long as your state will title a car this old. This car has not been in an accident during his ownership. He doesn't think it's ever been wrecked but he cannot say for certain.I have tried to describe the car the best I can but if you have any specific questions please send a message through ebay. If you need me to call you about the car please provide your number and I will call you. I have more pictures I can send too. The car is located in Cohutta GA. I recommend potential buyers to come take a look before buying. If you decide to ship the car I can help any way that I can. I have had success with uship in the past.Thank you!
