Car description

1950 Ford F1Short bed / Step side
Up for your consideration is my 1956 AMC Hudson Wasp Super. This is a very cool and very rare piece of American automobile hisotry. I've seen a number of Hornets over the years but not a WASP Super. When I came across this car almost a year ago I couldn't pass it up simply because it was so unique and so cool. I was hooked when I saw the massive grille and all the trim detail. I was told by the older gentleman that I bought it from that these were commonly raced back in the day with the 6cyl Flathead being a very "torque-ie" motor. I'm not a Hudson expert by any means and I'm sure there's those of you that know much more about these cars than I do.
When I purchased the car about 8 months ago it was in a climate controlled warehouse and was part of a large collection of unique vintage cars. It was driven into that storage warehouse for and left parked there for nearly 15 years. The previous owner had plans of restoring the car but had many projects ahead of it and never got to it. The carburetor was a bit sticky when he parked it and he removed it to rebuild but never got to it. However, that original carburetor is boxed and included with the car. The engine will turn and is not seized or locked up. There were no fluid leak spots below the car and the undercarriage is suprisingly solid considering it's age.
Overall the body and underside is very solid as seen in the photos. There are a few rust spots that are easily repairable. I have additional pictures showing the few areas that need attention that I can email to serious buyers. I would have included more photos but ebay only allows the 24 with the listing. All body lines and gaps are straight and even.
The interior is all there but as seen in the photos needs to be restored. All the glass is in great shape with the exception of a small rock chip in the windshield that can be repaired (it's not a crack, but rather just a chip). The trim and chrome is in really good shape considering the age of the car. The detail and thought that went into the body lines and trim of this car is evident.
My project list is too long at the moment and I'm thinning the herd. This car, with a bit of effort and minimal expense, could be running and driving as is or could be a great platform for a restoration. Of all the car shows I've been to over the years, spanning several states, I have never seen a Hudson Wasp before. This is definately a rare bird (bug) that will draw a curious crowd at car shows or cruise nights. The massive grille alone on this old girl is an attention getter!

Housekeeping:Please ask all questions, have funds in place, and permission (if needed, haha) BEFORE bidding. It takes a lot of time and money to list on ebay and I don't want to waste my, or anyone elses, time. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I'm willing to help on my end to make sure all goes well with your transport at pick up time. Car is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. I'm not a dealer. I've described the vehicle as straight forwardly as I can. To serious bidders, if you want to see anything that isn't pictured I'm happy to take additional photos of what you'd like to see and email them to yo, just ask. I'm willing to discuss the car on the phone with serious buyers, simply email me your phone number and I will call you. I'll consider ending the aution early if you would like to make an offer that's good for both of us. Good Luck !!
