Car description |
---|
I have owned this 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider Veloce for nearly 30 years. I am regretfully selling it because I have too may cars and not enough time to drive them all.
Shortly after buying the car, I restored it. The body was taken down to bare metal and any rust was cut out and repairs of that era were made. A new nose was welded on. The color was changed from silver to Alfa Red. I have a small photo album with photos of the work at the time (shown in photos with owners manual). The interior was re-upholstered in light brown leather complimented with brown carpeting. The original stainless steel bumpers, grille and other bright work were professionally polished. Carello headlight covers were added using the correct recessed headlight mounts.
The motor was rebuilt. The original Spica Fuel Injection pump was rebuilt by Wes Ingram. It has the Shankle Sure Start which facilitates cold starting and eliminates the need for costly thermostatic actuator.
The car sits on its original 14" steel wheels with correct hub caps. Tires are Vredestein 165 R 14. The Stayfast black cloth convertible top is in excellent condition. It has a wooden Alfa Romeo steering wheel. It has a period Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. Included are the owner's manual, tool kit and specific convertible top boot. The car has been recently serviced as follows; Oil, Filter and Spica Pump Oil Filter, all other fluids coolant, transmission, differential and brake. Fresh spark plugs and some light tuning. The car is ready to be driven and enjoyed and it needs to be driven. Not a museum piece, but a good looking car that should be driven and enjoyed. There is a rust hole under the passenger footwell. The paint has a few flaws in spots, but presents nicely. We recently drove the car for close to 200 miles and with each mile it ran better and better proving that these cars love to be driven as they were meant to be and they do not like sitting in the garage. The 1750 motor is one of the best revving Alfa Romeo motors.
The car is located in Northwest Connecticut and stored in a climate controlled garage. You are welcome to arrange an inspection and test drive. The car has to be picked up locally after full payment. We can assist in pick up by your transport company. Thank you.
