Car description |

I've owned this car since 1997 and believe I'm the third owner. Original owner was a Doctor where it was bought and lived in Berkeley. Second owners were a couple in Mill Valley where I bought the car. Over the last 22 years I've done everything mechanical to make this car run extremely well.
This car is a runner and is really strong. Here's the rundown.
Original matching 1750 to the car. Only thing not stock is the SPICA fuel injection. It was upgraded from the 1969 unit to a 1973 unit. The spica was tuned when the motor was rebuilt with euro cams and 9:1 pistons. Crank was ground and balanced at the time. Cast headers. Rear muffler is a stainless unit with a nice voice.
I replaced the old steel wheels with 15x7" Panasport wheels. Tires are new205 55 15.
Suspension was rebuilt with Koni shocks and sport springs. Handles perfect.
Brakes were fully rebuilt including both brake boosters and master.
Transmission had the syncro go out so I had it fully rebuild. No grinds. Shifts perfectly.
Radiator was recored and rebuilt
I had the differential replaced with a LSD unit from a 74 spider 1:4.1 ratio which is better for the back roads.
The interior had the floors insulated, new rubber matting and carpet. Seats were restored and are in excellent condition (no tears).
Replaced the door panels, rebuilt the door winders and window felt.
All gauges and lights work.
Horn is a Ferrari FIAMM air horn. Sounds epic.
Heater works excellent
Top is almost new with a rear zip out window. Excellent. Top frame was rebuilt at the same time the top was replaced.
Now for the not perfect...
Dash is cracked.
Paint is a 5 footer. Really decent but not perfect. Remember, it's been driven. It has a couple small dings but barely noticeable. No rust in the body or frame but behind the seat under the rubber mat the rear deck has surface rust in the corner. I've put inhibitor on it years ago and since it's parked in the garage, it hasn't changed since I've had it all these years.
Door handles were new a few years ago with keys but the passenger door button broke. I'm looking to fix this soon, but right now it not done.
This is a rare model. It's the first series of the 105 Spiders called the boat tail which was only made for 3 years. 1966-1969. 1969 was the last year and the only year of the 1750 engine. This was the only Spider Veloce of the boat tail or Duetto. 2215 US Spider Veloce were ever built. 5602 total worldwide.
