Up for auction is my 1946 Willys jeep CJ2A hot rod. 350 Chevy V8 with Edelbrock TR1 tunnel ram with dual Holley Performance 400 cfm carbs. Transmission is a ChevyTH350 3 speed automatic. Let me say right up front that this is a 2 wheel drive setup. Has Dana 44 rear axle and Dana 30 front axle but no transfer case. I bought this from the builder a couple of years ago with the intention of converting to 4WD but work and other projects got in the way. Had 500 miles on odometer when I bought it, ust turned 3,100. It was just too darn much fun to drive it just the way it is plus I don't do off roading anyway. You would need at minimum a 4WD tranny and passenger side transfer case to convert to 4WD. I did not do the build on this jeep. I do know that the tub was hand built all steel. I believe the frame is a boxed in postal jeep frame. Front fenders are fiberglass. Front axle has disc brakes, ear axle has 13" drums with new internals. Dash gauges are Auto Meter with Painless wiring harness. Non tilt GM steering column. Sunpro tach with shift light. I think gas tank is around 10 gallons. I get 8-12 MPG, epending on driving habits.B&M shifter and fake transfer case shifter, oth have actual 8 ball shift knobs. Dick Cepek wheels in excellent condition with BF Goodrich 35x12.5 R15LT Mud Terrain tires with excellent tread left. Tires still have the nipples (see Pics). I rotated them every 500 miles. Warn lockable hubs up front. Front drive shaft is present but non-functional. JVC CD/AM/FM with speaker box in back. Working Cobra CB radio. Light duty winch up front. I think its a 5000 lbs winch. Used it to pull a Honda out of the ditch once. I never took this off road. Just for Sunday drives. 350 motor is strong with no smoke or unusual noises. Transmission is smooth with no slipping. Tranny does drip some. Has separate vacuum and oil pressure gauges on the firewall. Full roll cage with 3 point seat belt for driver, point passenger. Dual carb tunnel ram setup runs strong but could probably use tweaking (smaller jets). I have the original single 4 barrel intake if you want it. Small steering wheel plus manual steering means low speed turns require some muscle. It did have a double cardan drive shaft which died so now running stock drive shaft. Due to angle from tranny to rear end, ou get driveline vibration beginning around 50-55 mph. I do not recommend driving over 55 as you start getting some frame flexing up front. Frame needs additional support (crossbar) up front to handle the V8. Drives fine at speeds below 60. Body is approx 30" off the ground, 8" wide outside of tire to outside of tire, ust under 13' from front of brush guard to rear bumper tow hooks. 80" center of front axle to center of rear. I'm 6'1" and the drivers seat is tight but not that uncomfortable, assenger seat is for short folks or kids. Take a look at the pictures. It is in good shape. Paint isn't perfect, as some chips and cracks, ut looks pretty good overall. Paint looks black in low light, ery dark blue in the direct sun. I have an unpainted hood that was fabricated for this jeep if you want it, lus a few extra parts. The side body flames are decals, o they can be removed if they aren't your taste.Let me say that this is NOT a drag strip jeep. It has a lot of power and misused you could get yourself in trouble real fast given the heavy big tires, igh center of gravity and very short frame/wheelbase. Drive it with respect and you will have miles of fun and smiles. And be prepared for pictures and lots of questions everywhere you stop. It is a real attention getter.Only selling because doc says my old back and knees can't take climbing in and out anymore. It is currently registered and insured to me in GA. No title, A does not issues titles for vehicles this old. Please check with your state DMV if you are not in GA. Please plan on trailering this vehicle if you are not buying locally. I do not recommend interstate driving. Now for the fine print: Sold AS IS, o warranty or guarantees expressed or implied. No returns. If you are high bidder and find the Willys different from the way I described it, ou can walk away no hard feelings. After the handshake, t's yours. No, will not deliver, will not accept money orders, hecks or deal with your fake negotiator. $1,000 PayPal deposit within 24 hrs of auction close. The remainder in CASH only when picking up vehicle. Check my feedback, have been on eBay a long time with 100% positive feedback. I'm a man of his word, expect the same from you.I will try and answer any questions, ut I am not a 4WD expert and not the original builder. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. On Jun-30-15 at 09:10:53 PDT, eller added the following information:
Answers to a couple of questions I've had: All lights and gauges work. High and low beam, urn signals, arking lights. No emergency flashers. Has new battery and new brake master cylinder. Has 1 1/4" hitch receiver and is wired for trailer but I've never pulled a trailer. I have a 1998 Massachusetts title issued in 1998 to previous owner and filled out in the back to me but, s listing says, eorgia doesn't issue new titles on vehicles this old. Also comes with spare new fan belt. Plus I have an electric radiator fan if you want it. The original 1946 vin tag is riveted to the transmission tunnel under the dash. You can see it in one of the pics. Engine doesn't burn oil, t stays same level on dipstick oil change to oil change.
