Getting ready for a move and selling off a few cars that I just can't take with me. Please check out my other auctions for a 1979 F150 and a 1973 Land Rover Series 3 and possibly a few others. All my cars are in great shape and ready to be driven.
Please keep in mind this Willy's is a 47. That makes it 71 years old if my math holds up. It was built in a totally different era and to totally different standards. Then on top of that it had a few lifetimes worth of owners.
Having said that I feel this Jeep is in overall amazing condition and appears to have mostly original or period correct parts. The Jeep looks, runs, and drives great and provided weather is not an issue (due to lack of roof) it is ready to be driven anywhere as is!
Mechanically the Jeep is amazing shape. I give it a solid 9 out of 10. Tops out around 50/55mph. Best enjoyed under 45. I don't hesitate to jump into it and drive it anywhere. We have some land out in the country and it's like a goat. It starts right up and has a very smooth idle. All gears work and it shifts smooth. At idle you can't hear the engine run. Drives straight and with no unusual vibration. Only issues I can think off are: Windshield wipers don't work, brake pedal feels stiff, and the fuel gauge and Speed are intermittent. There might a few other small things but nothing major.
Tires are like new, all lights work, and it even has turn signals and a working horn. Steering feels tight and all linkages feel great. No idea on actual mileage.
Cosmetically the Jeep looks great. I would give it an 8 out of 10. It does have signs of fairly minor rust that for the most part has already been dealt with. The paint is fresher but has some imperfections here and there. Some related to previous repairs some just tied to the quality of these things when new. The seats are like new and fold. Fenders, windshield, hood, grill, etc are all solid.
Jeep is absolutely ready to be enjoyed as is. Keep up with maintenance and it will last another 71 years.
Any questions please ask. With a car this old I strongly encourage you to come out and inspect in person. I can help with delivery for a fee.
