Car description

I bought this 1953 Willys CJ3B in Georgia back in July and drove it 1600 miles (cruising speed 35mph, 10 plus hours a day) from Georgia back to Boston over the course of 4 days. This jeep is reliable to say the least! From what I know it was owned by an elderly gentleman for the past 20 plus years and kept in his drive in basement. He would use it to drive into town once a week for lunch at the local diner.
Mechanical:
-F Head Hurricane engine
-The engine and mechanical systems of the jeep have been entirely rebuilt.
-In the 1600 miles I put on the Willys it started flawlessly every time, never overheated (in july HOT weather), never missed or fluttered, and did not burn any oil at all.
-Upgraded to a 12 volt system, new starter, charging system, ect and all extremely tidy wiring
-Replaced brake hoses and lines throughout, brand new master cylinder front brake hoses and line
-Transmission leaks a small amount of oil, over the course of 1600 miles I added oil twice.
-Has upgraded lock out front hubs that allow the front wheels to freewheel for road driving. Huge gas saver due to the fact that the front axles does not need to spin.
-New carburetor and air cleaner assembly
-Engine has been repainted and would clean up very nicely
-Inline fuel filter and glass bowl fuel filter, gas tank is clean with no rust
Body
-The body of this jeep is all original, what you see is what you get. Combination of rust colored and original green paint
-Front hand crank winch mounted on bumper
-Rear trailer hitch with trailer wiring
-There is rust but coming from Georgia it is not nearly as bad as anything from the north east.
-New seat cushions all around though the drivers seat does have a rip
-New wheels all around, no worn lug holes
-Gauges work
-Parking brake works
-Headlights and brake lights work though for those who know Willys the typical unreliable connection on the brake master cylinder will sometimes cause problems
- When I got it there was an area on the drivers side that the previous owners son had painted gray. I have done my best to blend this with the rest of the body with a combination of rust primer and dark green paint as I like the current look.
Needs:
-The front tie rods need to be replaced, this is the only thing mechanically preventing it from being a reliable driver.
-Could use new tires due to age.
-Windshield needs to be replaced. I'm told this is very cheap to do because it is flat glass.
Tons of Spare Parts:
-Complete and not seized transmission and transfer case
-All new transmission seals
-New spare fuel pump
-Carburator
-New fuel gauge
-Heater Assembly
-Mirrors and chrome
-Crank shaft and connecting rods
-Bell housings
-Skid Plates
-Lots of odds and ends
