Car description |
---|
Restored Jeep CJ-3A, unbelievably beautiful with nearly flawless paint. The restoration was based around original mechanicals with a replacement body tub and fenders. The body was painted the current red, and the frame was sandblasted and repainted. A new Beechwood canvas top and straps were installed by the previous owner. Looks awesome! The truck is unmodified and functional apart from an uninstalled original heater box, which is included in the sale.
Believed to be the 3rd known owner (cannot prove) originally from Crescent City, California then to the previous seller in Valley Springs, CA then on to me in Mesa, Arizona.
- L-134 "Go Devil" four-cylinder and 3-speed manual transmission.
- Just under 21k miles have been driven since the completion of restoration work, around 500 miles of which were driven in the past couple years of my ownership
- This 1952 Willys CJ-3A is sold with a clean Arizona title.
- Warn locking front hubs
- Steel wheels with 7.00×16 Firestone Military reproduction tires - approximately 500 miles on this set
- Matching fifth wheel mounted to the bodywork.
- Functioning double-spooled Ramsey winch idriven by a PTO system engaged with a lever in the cockpit. Extremely rare item!
- Interior was repainted and reupholstered seats with new covers
- All new gauges and a new wiring harness
- New exhaust manifold and system, new carburetor and ignition points.
- New gas tank
- New shocks, rebuilt steering and other suspension components as needed.
The motor was rated at 60hp when new and was recently serviced in the last 2 months.
The previous owner and restorer put 20k miles on this jeep after the restoration. Parades, backroads, lots of ice cream trips with grandkids. My kids are very sad I am selling this Jeep but we have no room! Lovingly restored and cared for. I have never seen such a great paint job on an older Willys jeep (and I've owned 3 now, plus researched them for years).
You can just buy the jeep and day one start to enjoy! Nothing left to do!
Known issues: High beams do not turn on, could be in the switch haven't investigated yet. Original heater box is unrestored but does come with the sale. Fuel gauge is not registering correctly and cannot find the cause (shows full till empty/empty), perhaps a new sending unit is needed.
