Willys Jeep CJ3A 1949 49 Nice Timecapsule!

This is a 1949 CJ3A that I bought at neighbors auction. He was the 2nd owner, and bought in 1963. He had done a lot of work to it. The engine was rebuilt back in 1988.

He had replaced the clutch and pressure plate at the same time. He them later rebuilt the front differential. and replaced the seals on the closed knucklefront end.

It had new tire put on it in 1990, and that is where the story ends.

The Willys set from 1990 to 2016 when I bought it at auction.

I bought a battery (6 volt) and had it running in about 30 minutes. It ran good, needs fuel completely gone through and replaced.The hoses and belts need replaced. The gas tank itself got a leak in it after setting for a while. I was starting to replace it.

The body is in good shape. There are few dings and dents, but looks good for rust. It appears to have a solid body.
