This is a 1948 Willy's Jeep CJ2a made by Kaiser Steel in California. These were made by 3 companies during World War II. Kaiser made by far the most of them. They were made to be sturdy and take an extreme pounding. The simplicity of their systems made them really easy to repair and keep on the road. They are great for a fun family off road vehicle. Or for use in parades or other promotional events. They aren't meant for modern highways as their top speed is around 55 mph. However these vehicles will almost climb telephone poles. There are not many places an old CJ won't take you in the backcountry. This has the original L134 4 Cylinder Flathead Engine it originally came with. Not sure about the running condition of the motor. It is numbers matching and all there. It sat in a garage for at least 12 years. According to the original owners when they parked it in the garage it was in running condition. We acquired this thinking of restoring it but then we got another project that needs to take precedence. The only thing not original is its been upgraded to an alternator. This gives it much better and reliable charging than the original 6 volt system. This is an Az truck and shown no sign of outwards rust. Feel free to bid on this great Jeep with confidence. Being sold as is no warranties or guarantees of any kind.
