Description Take a trip back to 1961. John Kennedy has just been elected. Alan Shepard is the first American in space. The Cuban missile crisis is brewing. And this truck is just coming off the Kaiser/Jeep Willys factory line in Toledo, hio. It looked just like this. It drove just like this. It smelled, ounded and bounced just like this truck. Because it is this truck. It sounded like this because this is the original engine - a Continental Hurricane six cylinder. You can tell its a torque monster, nd you can walk faster than this truck when it is in Low Four Wheel drive. But it will pull a tree stump. There's no mistaking a Jeep/Willys. They get all the attention you want, ll the smiles, nd all the questions of "What is it??". Because no other truck looks like one. They built this style of pickup from 1947 to 1965. Thousands and thousands of them. Really the only changes were the style of front grille, he windshield, he available engines and the dash gauges. They were built for work, ot showing off. Some are still working, ver 50 years later. Some have had snow plows attached, ome have become tow trucks, ome are dump trucks. But most of those left have been fitted with Chevy V8's. There are few left with their original drivetrain. And there even fewer that have been given a new lease on life to be exactly like they day they were born. This one is one of those. A piece of history that you can drive, how off, nd watch as it increases in value. There just aren't that many restored to stock Willys trucks. So, ike diamonds and gold, verybody wants one, ut they're just too scarce to find. We rebuilt the engine. We refurbished the transmission and transfer case. We rebuilt the brakes and suspension. All the gauges work. The horn and all the lights work. The original heater and defroster have been rebuilt. And the vacuum powered windshield wiper works perfectly. We reupholstered the bench seat. We redid the door and kick panels back to stock. The cardboard(!) trim cards are correct and the right colors. The vinyl floor mat is new. The tires are the correct original 7x16 farm truck type. And the paint is the correct original turqouise blue with white trim.Take a look at the pictures and see yourself driving this hard working example of what American industry produced over half a century ago. And know you can be proud doing it.Questions?
