Garage Kept
4 Speed OverdriveI am selling a gorgeous Cypress green Volvo that that has always been stored in the garage with a car cover over it when not driven. It runs nice and smooth and transmission shifts flawlessly. These have been climbing in value and are becoming great collector cars. In the autumn of 1971, a new version of Volvo's famous 1800 model was presented. The new version was called the 1800ES. The 1800ES had a newly designed rear end compared with the previous versions of the 1800. The roofline had been extended and the car had a profile that was more reminiscent of an estate; a sports wagon. The 1800ES had increased luggage capacity to provide extra space for golfing or hunting equipment, for example.Under the body, the technology in the 1800ES was the same as that in the other 1800 models. The new version was produced for two model years, 1972 and 1973. In 1972, both versions were produced in parallel, but only the 1800ES was produced in 1973. When the last cars were built in 1973 and production ended, this was due to increasingly rigorous safety requirements in the USA in particular. These would quite simply have been too expensive to comply with. MODEL SPECIFICATIONS Model: 1800ES Produced: 8,078 Body: 2+2 seater coupé Engine: 4-cylinder, in-line, overhead valves, 1,986 cc, 88.9 x 80 mm, 124-135 bhp. Transmission: 4-speed manual with Electrical overdrive, floor-mounted gear lever. 3-speed automatic with floor-mounted gear selector. Brakes: Hydraulic, disc brakes on all four wheels. Dimensions: Overall length 438 cm, wheelbase 245 cm It was Ordered new in the factory code 110 Cypress Green with peanut butter leather interior. The car were optioned with 4 wheel disc brakes, padded dash, alloy wheels, tinted glass, variable speed wipers, 4 speed manual transmission, Factory A/C, with automatic overdrive. The car is a very solid example that has been garage kept. The car has received one repaint in the correct color code 110 Cypress Green. Gauges are crisp and glass is clean. The underside is very solid on this car and the car still retains the original rockers and floor pans. This is a great example and has been garage kept. The car rides on newer tires with a ton of new parts from suspension, gaskets, seals and much more.... Mechanically, This P1800 is ready to hit the road. Very well sorted and very comfortable to drive. The Inline 4 cylinder runs smooth and is very consitent. The clutch feel great and the M41 4-Speed manual transmission shifts smoothly. The handling of these Volvos are excellent and they provide quite an enjoyable ride. Stop power is great due to the 4 wheel disc brake system. This is a great classic car that is gaining in popularity daily. This is a great investment car that you can enjoy all the time.
