You are looking at my son's 1994 Volvo 850 Sportswagen. This was his baby for years and he put lots of time, energy and money into this car. It was a low mileage car in need of some engine work. He started with a completely rebuilt engine and cylinder head, added a slightly larger turbo with 3 inch down pipe. He became very familiar with IPD's catalog and used their sway bars, springs and Koni's. He put new Brembo brake rotors all around and Hawk pads. The stock wheels now have BF Goodrich performance tires at all corners. The car was a lot of fun at this point, but he really wanted a manual transmission, so he acquired a 5 speed parts car and performed a transmission swap. The result is a mechanically fresh 850 turbo that's a blast to drive and looks pretty good, too. It's not perfect, though, and here's what it still needs. The original paint is decent, but has peeling clearcoat in places. The car suffered some light hail, but it's not very severe. The exhaust does not have a catalytic converter. The original interior is decent, but you can see in the photos that the Volvo leather does show some age. The airbag cover on the passenger side of the dash is curling up. Overall, this is a great example of the beautiful 850 wagon, and I hope to find an owner that can continue the work to preserve this neat wagon for years to come.
