THE ENGINE IS NOW PARTIALLY INSTALLED IN THE CAR. I got the engine in minus the cooling and fuel delivery system.(the tank still needs to be pulled and cleaned and a new fuel pump needs to be bought and installed by the new owner) I hooked a battery to it but got NOTHING when turning the ignition key.I got the cars engine turning over NICELY (quiet and smooth) with a direct connection of the terminals on the starter (maybe a bad solenoid?) but have no spark in addition to no ignition power and am NOT an elctrician. Right now I only have a both headlights, one tail light and 3 marker lights coming on along with one interior light and theflashers..It's almost like there is a hidden kill switch I haven't found. The interior light is operated by a switch under the dash--there is another one not working underneath the other side. I reduced the price to $6500 based on this new information and where the car is TODAY...I will go after the electricals next (may not get to them before the end of the auction) and if /when I get it started the price will go up or down depending on how well things go... This 1972 p1800 is a very solid starting point for a complete restoration or just patch it up a little more, put it back together and hopefully drive it while restoring it like I plan to do if it doesn't sell here while I have it listed. It has been owned by a lady since at least 1987 up until recently but I have no other owner information or history on it other than that.It has NO STRUCTURAL/stress points ROT ANYWHERE, but there is a 6 inch hole in the bottom of the frame rail up near where the front bumper connects shown in one of the pictures-a small 2 inch by 7 inch plate welded in there will patch that. There are also a few holes in the floors and trunk but again they could just be patched with fiberglass of buy and weld in the correct panels that are available I'm pretty sure and alse reasonably priced The rockers, rear window area, rear valance, rear quarters, lower door edges and rear quarters have been patched some already but still need more work to make nice or nicer. When I got it a few months ago, the engine was out an apart. The head was off and there was a box of most o, if not all the rest of the parts in boxes. The pistons had been cleaned and there were new rings installed also and they and the piston rods were already connected. The story I got was the the engine was stuck and that was it. The block was on an engine stand and the crank, cam and lifters were installed when I got it and it was NOT stuck. it turned nicely and freely. I honed the cylinders and installed the pistons and rods with the original? bearings and it still turns smoothly. The engine is nearly completely back together now as seen in one of the pictures. I did not replace any bearings anywhere, and they didn't appear to need them but the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bearing and rear main seal will be new and I have installed a new water pump.Something may be missing from the cooling fan assembly. When I looked at it close something didn't look right but I don't know what..The interior on this car is in good condition except the dash pads, carpet, and front seats will need to be replaced or completely redone--I still have the frames but 2 2014 Kia Forte? black cloth seats are just sitting in the car for now and go with the car if it sells, with what is left of the old, original seats. The carpet appears original and though it could still be used new ones are needed to freashen it up better Contacting me BEFORE buying IS REQUIRED.
