Car description |
---|
This 1972 Volvo P1800E is powered by a fuel-injected B20 2.0L inline-four paired to a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Sold new in Westchester County, New York, the car has remained in the Northeast from new. This car is a good driver. The car is mechanically sound. It starts, runs and drives well. The engine sounds good and transmission shifts good through gears. The clutch is good. Brakes and supension are good. All fluids are up to date. Originally bronze, the car was repainted red many years ago. The car was recently repainted again in red single-stage enamel. the quality of the paint is avergage. The car looks great from 10 feet. The door jams are finished in red, though the original color is visible in places underhood. There is evidence of rust repair in the lower rear valence and a repaired dent in the driver's door. The stock chrome beltline trim was removed when the car was repainted. An aftermarket sunroof is fitted and is working properly with no leaking.
The cabin is trimmed in tan vinyl with brown carpets. The front seats were recently reupholstered to match the door panels and rear seat. Some cracks are present in the dash top which are covered with a carpeted pad. A small tear is present in the headliner, and the carpets are faded. A single DIN radio cutout is present on the passenger side of the dash, but no radio is fitted. The car was originally delivered with A/C, though the original compressor is not installed. 31k miles are shown but actual mileage is unknown. Overall, it is a good driver that needs some cosmetic attention (or drive it as is). Clean title.
TheVolvo P1800is a 2+2, front-engine, rear-drivesports carmanufactured and marketed byVolvo Carsbetween 1961 and 1973.For 1970 numerous changes came with the fuel-injected1800E, which had the B20E engine with Bosch D-Jetronicfuel injectionand a revised camshaft, and produced 130bhp (97kW) without sacrificing fuel economy. Top speed was around 190km/h (118mph) and acceleration from 0-100km/h (0-62.1mph) took 9.5 seconds. In addition, the 1970 model was the first 1800 with four-wheeldisc brakes; until then the 1800 series had front discs and rear drums. The 1972 1800E has a fairly low product number. Only 1872 were produced and was the last year of the coupe model.
