This car was purchased brand-new, in 1975 by an Air Force Col. in NY. upon his return to the states after a tour of duty in Germany. He drove it back home to San Antonio, Tx. where he lived the rest of his life. It was meticulously maintained and garage kept. He had it repainted, (same color), and new interior installed in the late '90's. I purchased it from his estate, last year. He was unable to drive it for the last 2 years due to health problems.I have owned several vintage Volvo's in the past, but this is my first 164. I am impressed by the power of the 6 cylinder B30 engine. It runs good and does not smoke. Although the car is very nice overall, it is not perfect and has a few minor defects, such as: the water-pump and the electric fuel-pump have minor leaks. I have purchased new ones and will include them in the sale. It needs a new tail pipe and the drivers power window is stuck in the up position, have not checked into it. Also, the A/C needs freon. The body has some dings & scratches but nothing bad. I'd call it "shopping cart" rash. Since it never snows in S. Tx. they don't salt the roads, so the body is completely rust-free, except for a few small areas of bubbling paint at the bottom of the windshield, (shown in photos). Equipped with an Alpine stereo/radio. All 4 Michelin tires have excellent tread. If you're looking for a 164 to restore, this would be an ideal candidate, or could be a daily driver after correcting the items previously mentioned. I'm selling because I have 2 other vintage Volvo's, (a '68 122 which is almost finished, and a '68 1800S which i want to start restoring this summer). I just don't have time to give this car the attention it deserves.Any questions---please ask.Payment---Preferably cash when picked up.
