This Auction Ends April 2nd at 11:45am PST / 2:45pm ESTItem Description:
This stock red (Color Code 46) 1965 Volvo 1800s has had a previous ownership of 19 years in California until its recent acquisition, this 1800s has always been registered in California. This is a nice surviving running and driving example, all engine compression is 164-170psi with the M41 shifting correctly with the overdrive functional as well. The paint on this 1800 is an older respray, looks to be from the 80's, light scratching, some fading, chips and some paint blisters are present. Overall this is not perfect show car, just a nice surviving example to drive and enjoy or restore.
This 1800s runs and drives well, compression is amazing, it shifts smoothly into all the gears and the OD is functional. It has an aftermarket 4 into 1 exhaust header with stainless steel exhaust, the back dual output muffler looks to be in great shape. The tachometer reads correctly (idles 900rpm) and the speedometer doesn't bounce, all the gauges are present (even the clock) they don't have any cracking or issues in the plastic. The headlights, brights, turn signals, wipers and interior lights for the gauges are all working. The choke is functional. (see video)
The body on this 1800 is in good shape, looks very straight and no dings or dents. The paint is good, shows well from 10' but does have some fading in spots, it could use a good buffing. The undercarriage is very clean without any signs of corrosion or rust! The jacking points, cross members and frame rails are all stock and corrosion free. The floors don't show any sign of corrosion along with the trunk area. There are 6 small paint blisters in total on this 1800 (see photos) 2 on the right rocker, 1 on the right rear and 2 on the left rocker, there's also 1 spot on the front fender. The front left turn signal has a small blister as well. The front left hood hinge looks to have been seized in the past causing the metal to bend and slowly corrode by the hinge, the front left area left of the radiator looks to have been replaced at some point, there's some welding in that area. The chrome is present all around, not missing anything, not perfect but does display well. Please see photos and message me with any questions!
This interior still wears it's stock red carpeting from 1965, the leather seats do show some wear but no major tears or cracks are present, just some age. The headliner is in amazing shape along with the dash. The rear seat and cushion are in good shape but the coverings over the wheel arches have small tears (see photos) It's missing the stock seat belt clamp base, but still has the original seat belt material. The trunk is very clean along with its spare tire and jack.
The engine bay is highly original and shows well, not perfect but very honest. A new front hood seal will be needed, the current one is old. Recently the valves were adjusted, carbs cleaned and balanced, a new fuel pump and fuel filter we added along with new spark plugs. The stock brake booster still works great (rare) and the 1800s stops well!
It comes with it's original owners manual, some paperwork and a few old service manuals.
