The Volvo 164 is a 4-door, 6-cylinder luxury sedan unveiled by Volvo at the Paris Motor Show early in October 1968 and first sold as a 1969 model. 46,008 164s were built before the car was superseded by the 264 in 1975.This well preserved example was acquired from Santa Fe from an owner who kept the car well-maintained with routine mechanical visits. But after some non-starts gave up. Since taking possession, the front windshield has been replaced, various interior and exterior plastic parts such as lenses have been replaced. Replaced all six fuel-injectors. Overall, the car was re-painted original color about three years ago - #042 Cascade white (Californiavit). Some flaking on rear passenger door since then; got a quote for $345 to repaint/fix dent. Has new Hankook white-wall tires. In getting it up and running the mechanic bypassed the cooling lines away from the heater core due to some blockage.
