Car description |

This survivor is, and always has been a Southern California car.
1973 Volvo 1800ES retains its original color and maintaining 90% original paint with black leather interior and original brown carpet. The Fuel injected original Volvo engine has always been meticulously maintained and just completely rebuilt with all new Volvo parts and traveled about 1200 miles since. Historically serviced at San Diego Volvo. This car comes with TWO transmissions. The very rare and desirable Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic transmission installed presently and the original factory 4 speed with overdrive that is 100% compete including brake and clutch pedals and ready to be reinstalled if desired. When I purchased this car for my wife she did not enjoy shifting so I purchased a rebuilt Volvo 1800 automatic for this exact application and switched them out. The 4 speed is boxed and included with the car. Again, everything is there should you wish to put the 4 speed back into the car.
These wagons are fun to drive and Volvo safe and dependable. They are rising in value according to NADA classic valuation site which if you check it out you enter "coupe" as they do not list the wagon separately.
This car has been well maintained, engine starts instantly. Everything is working and up to date. This is a very dependable wagon and great looking with its Ferrari style air intake.
The paint is original and therefore all the nicks and scratches and history have not been touched up. As you can see from the photos under the doors, this is a California car and unlike most East Coast & Central US cars is not rusty. The leather is in very nice condition. The back seats are great there is a tear on the side panel in the rear as shown. The carpet is wool and original. Steering wheel is original. Dash is cracked, most are. Tires are 90%. Both transmissions have their own clutch and brake for the 4 speed and single large brake pedal for the automatic... done right. Driven an average of 6000 miles a year it is still young in its term of longevity. I have multiple past registrations and the original owner Id card. The car has had three owners.
No smog required in California and insure through Haggerty for about $90. a year.If you have any questions please email me and I will give you honest answers. Send me your phone number and I will call you.If you have zero feedback please contact me before bidding or your bid will be removed.

Yes, the 4 speed manual transmission is newly (100 miles ago) rebuilt with new clutch, throw-out and plate. Shifts great.
