Great documented West Coast race History, with the original SCCA Logbook # 33-240 full of races driven by many Californians.
VINTAGE "Prepared as Raced in Period" ……. for most any Vintage Event
Bill Leonheart of Petaluma, CA built this car in the early 60', and Bill told me he had a very successful career with it, racing for Royal Motors in SanFrancisco. According to Bill, he later sold the car to Gordon Stanley. Gordon recently told me he fabricated the custom catch ca, and it was one of several of his modification, still visible in the car . Gordon sold the car to Dan Gallant, of Gallant Racing Engines, Oakland,CA, and the rest is recorded in the logbooks. Dan raced the car in the early 70's, sold it, and in 2000 found it in a barn and had his shop do a complete nut and bolt restoration... using all the original equipment from it's actual prior race history.
We have enjoyed having and racing the car on the East Coast . It would be a great Volvo for anyone to have, but especially a significant car to own in the SF Bay area, and of course in Europe, as it is one of the first Volvos imported into the US by Auto Imports, San Francis
We have many photos, including early racing and it's later restoration by the Gallants, who relocated the car in a barn about 15 years ago.
Astute buyers may contact me for additional photos and information
Good Export Documentation, includes 2 SCCA Logbooks and VCDA Logbook for positive Indentification
This car could also be updated for use Rallying or Street
