Car description |

I bought this beauty last year with the intent of heavily modifying it, as it's a 1975 model and I live in California; however upon receiving I had a change of heart as it was just in toogoodof a condition to tear apart. I've been daily driving it while building my project car and it's been very reliable.
Exterior as a 8.5/10.The original single stage paint polishes up really nicely and the small blemishes are only surface deep. It does have very little surface rust near hinges and in nooks that can be seen when doors are opened. The exception being a little bubbling under the rear window above the wiper. All of the lights are un-cracked and all of the trim sticks are intact as well as the bumper rubber, the roof rack and even the original windshield and integrated antennae. The windshield is clear but does have a couple small dings but they're not spreading like cracks would.
Interior is an 8/10.It's *all original and with 42 years of dependable motoring comes some wear on the vinyl. There are some small 1-2cm cuts in the back seat bottom but the front seats have seen the worse wear as both exhibit tears along some of the seams. I had two seat covers custom made and installed the driver's to help protect it. The passenger cover is in the trunk but I chose to leave it off as I like seeing as much of the original blue interior as possible out of the corner of my eye. I've also put some vinyl-repair tape on some of the tears to stop them from spreading.*the original tailgate cover was missing so I had a can of paint custom made and sprayed a spare cover. It's a darn good match that nobody notices until I point it out to them and even then it's only a little darker. It was fabric paint- flexible and has held up perfectly.
-Carpet is in great condition save for a little sun bleaching evidenced when you peak under the floor mats.-Spare tire cover was cracked so I glued it back together. A nice even shot of black paint would even it all out I suppose. Spare tire is in great shape.-Roof liner is in fantastic condition and it's holding it's shape- not sagging like so many of the wagon liners do.-Wheel chrome all looks fantastic. Original caps and 3 beauty rings. I sourced a 4th ring but the lip is a little shallower than the other 3. It's close and looks better than not so on the wheel it stays.-Rear seats fold down flat without any protest. All 5 seat belts are in tact.-No cracks in the dash.
Mechanical9/10.Engine burns/leaks a little oil but it purrs along nicely and it's just a real pleasure to drive. Clutch pedal is easy, visibility is astounding, and cruising on the highway with the windows open just feels so right. The little vent in the driver foot well has spoiled me. Obviously the heater will cook the cold out of you faster than you can say "Sweden is on the Baltic Sea."The A/C works. That's right, I said that the Air Conditioning in this 42 year old Swedish brick works. The compressor was seized when I bought it but my friend gave me a low mileage compressor that I topped off with oil and installed. Got it recharged over a year ago and it's been cooling ever since!
The only things that I haven't addressed are the dash clock and the windshield wiper sprayers. For what it's worth here's what I've done under the hood:-new water pump.-deleted "smog pump"-installed idler pulley to accommodate accessory belt to AC-new front tires-new rear springs- which fixed the sag.-cleaned out A/C condenser drain.-new front brakes- pads and rotors.-new front main seal.-new valve cover gasket.-had manual steering rack rebuilt-new alternator-had driveshaft rebuilt
happy bidding! shoot me any questions you have...

Well this is embarrassing - I neglected to put my pic of the engine bay in the listing. Since I've maxed out the pictures (24) I can't add it and I can't delete one on a live listing to make room for it.
Please feel free to email me davidandrico@gmail.com and I will send you the engine bay pic.
I also got some questions about the transmission. It's a standard 4 speed with no Over Drive. She's great on the highway but cruising much over 70 is asking a bit much.
