Car description

This is a truly RUST FREE example of these very beautiful cars. Look closely at the two factory seams in the rocker panels - many of these cars have seen that filled in at some point. Also look at the factory original jacking points that are in perfect condition. There are many rust repaired 1800s out there but this one was in Arizona from new until 2007 when it moved to Illinois where it stayed in a heated garage and saw very limited summer use - so it has NEVER seen snow or salt. This car has mileage showing of 76,570 but documentation shows that the speedo was replaced in 1976 at 29,423. So 105,993 is believed to be the correct mileage and is consistent with the overall condition. As you may know one of these belonging to Irv Gordon has a Guiness record and has gone over 3 million miles! Note that 1972 was the last year for the coupe body style (1961-1972). This car has the very durable Borg Warner BW35 automatic with a 3.9 final drive. The car runs and drives just exactly as it should it - it has been VERY thoroughly gone over by Swedish Car Specialists in Schaumburg, Illinois. The most recent work includes: brand new Nokian tires, new u joints and center support, all new ball joints, new AC compressor (converted to 134 and blows cold), all new exhaust and a professionally reupholstered interior. The B20F engine has just had a valve adjustment and compression test results are appropriate at 150-145-150-140. It also has a newer fuel pump, fuel injectors, radiator and KYB shocks. Everything down to the windshield washers, horn, heater fan, dome light and back up lights work as they should - the clock does not work. The car comes with very good documentation history (see photo). At some point this car was resprayed in the original color and it is of very presentable quality - that said there is some minor peeling around the windshield and rear window. These cars definitely are rising in value (Wayne Carini of Chasing Classic Cars is predicting $100,000 could soon be the norm - see photo from Forbes) and ones this solid are getting very hard to find. The car can be viewed by appointment at Swedish Car Specialists in Schaumburg, Illinois.
