Car description

Hello- I am reluctantly selling my 1982 Volvo 264 GLE with less than 51k original miles on her. I am asking $10,000 OBO (please read entire post to see why I am asking that amount). Not only is this a "RARE" car, but has lower miles than most cars more than 10 years old... let alone 34 years old. This car was a special order to the U.S. or was used as diplomat cars in Europe. It has the PRV V6 in it (same engine in the Delorean), which cranks out 155HP. According to Volvo statistics, they made 6,390 of this model in 1982. This car is loaded!! It has a sunroof, leather interior, upgraded stereo, power antenna, power windows/locks, A/C (if you get it working).. It had everything Volvo had to offer that year except for heated seats! This car was the most expensive car to buy from Volvo in 1982. It is a dream to drive (VERY SMOOTH).... The reason for parting ways with this car: I want to start a 242 GT project, and to make room for it, my gem has to go.....It was a pleasure restoring this car with the idea of keeping mostly original.. I did not have the heart to yank out the PRV engine and put a B230 turbo in or something like that, as most 264 owners have done over the years. It is a member car of the Rogue Valley Volvo Club. It has been well maintained and upgraded where needed since I bought from original owner almost 4 years ago. I got it with a little over 42k original miles on her, almost 4 years ago. My Wife and I get a lot of looks and compliments on this car when we take it out, as it looks/feels/drives nicer than most new cars (well kept)...
What I have done since 2012:-Repaired the injector wire harness and replaced relay.-Only about 7k on current tires-New Battery (in early 2013)-Cleaned the injectors and spark plugs and flushed fuel system-New seals on many items to get running properly....-Replaced original 3 speed transmission with a 4 speed transmission from a 1988 Bertone-Upgraded the stereo, replaced all four speakers, and put a custom bandpass into the trunk. I plan on replacing current amp with a different one like a Kenwood (done). I am not selling my Phoenix Gold amp with car (as seen in picture).-Flushed and cleaned out radiator +New water pump and hoses-Added an OEM voltage meter in dash by clock-Replaced overdrive solenoid with a bypass plate (so it shift automatically into 4th)-New power antenna-Carpeted dash cover to hide the cracks that seem to happen with all cars.-Custom chrome exhaust tip+ many more little things to get road/show worthy
What I know that car needs still/flaws:-Fix A/C pump (clutch will not engage)-small power steering leak on driver side boot.-repair the leather upholstery (see pics) and replace dash?-touch-up paint for edges of doors (previous owner must have had a tight garage) and need to replace front fender chrome due to damage from previous owner.-Clear coat on bumpers is failing (see pics)-One tail light lens needs to be replaced soon, due to a crack (see pic)-Touch up done on fender by battery (I think due to battery acid? not sure, it is from previous owner)
I want you to be COMPLETELY happy with this car, as I have had "saving" her these past few years. I will take pics of more area/concerns if you let me know. I have extra parts for this car, especially an extra radiator (sell for around $500 if you can find one), and the original 3 speed transmission if you want it... I will hand over all the receipts/records for this car I have kept since day 1 in late 2012. I will start digging these parts out of storage and make a detailed list of what will come with the car (for those that want a list). It is easily a large box of items + the 3 speed tranny and radiator. Please keep in mind, I will only give up the extra parts if you make me a solid offer. Please email me with any questions or concerns. I have made a video that I can send of it running, etc. For those that want to come see it, to prove it is a runner.... I will also throw in the IPD spark plug wire kit for this car, and a new cap.
I will send you more pics and a video upon your request. Please send me your phone number, and I will send info that way.
