Car description

1977 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible, triple white, with Herbie the love bug striping. We call her "Trixie," Herbie's topless sister. This car is a great candidate for restoration. The body is in great shape as are the floor pans. It starts right up (new battery) and runs and drives very well. It is currently stored inside and only used for Sunday drives and local parades and shows. This car gets honked at, yelled to, and pictures taken of more than any car I've owned. This car is NOT a Champagne Edition (there is a Champagne Edition sticker on the dash that was there when I got it, but the car came with the L90A color, not the L90B color. The L90B was the Champagne Edition color). In the pictures you will see a 'birth certificate' recently purchased from VW Germany which shows the car was manufactured on 5/12/1977 and delivered in Grand Rapids Michigan on 5/16/1977. Included are the original owners manual and the warranty book dated 6/10/1977 with the card for the original owner still attached on the cover. Also included are service records dating back to the early 1980's. I mentioned that this car is a great candidate for restoration...here are ome thoughts on that. Certainly needs a top as the current top is ripped. The interior is functional without rips, but could certainly use a refresh. The drivers seat is loose and the passengers seat does not tilt forward. The chrome around the passengers window needs replacement. There is rust in the frame rails and under carriage. Please look at this link (https://smile.amazon.com/photos/shared/3eOjBm1XRm2AtL4Kbj_2uw.ewr7ySwy0Dumn_UHrLsrdm?sa-no-redirect=1) to see a bunch more pictures on the undercarriage so you understand the work needed. Ignore the last picture in the album, obviously a different car. Hit me with questions if you have them. This car is listed locally so the auction is subject to removal at any time as per the Ebay terms of service. I had every intention of restoring the car myself, but other projects have taken precedence so its time for Trixie to find a new home.
