Beautiful 1956 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Lowlight Coupe
Here we have for sale a beautiful, original, numbers matching 1956 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Low Light coupe. This Ghia has quiet a local history here in Nevada. I bought the Ghia from the original owners family. The car was the first Ghia sold in the state of Nevada in 1956, and remains one of the earliest 1956 lowlights in existence today. The car is completely numbers matching, engine, trans, body and pan. It’s quiet amazing that the car maintains its original engine. The car was restored around 40 years ago and still shows very well. You can not beat the look of a low light Ghia. The original color combination is very attractive. The paint color is lizard green and deep green. It has been fully detailed, polished and waxed. It shines beautifully. There are some chips in the paint. It is showing some age. There are chips around the hood opening, and same as the engine lid. There are some paint chips on the nose too. The glass is all original in the car except for a brand new windshield. I just put brand new 560-15 bias ply whitewall tires on the car. It has some very rare accessory wheel covers on the wheels. I also have some other original Lemmerz trim rings for the wheels that will come with the car too. The original bumpers are still intact. They are one piece bumpers and they are date coded 1956. Only the early production low lights got the one piece bumpers and the car still has them. The back bumper has a little repair done in the middle of it. There is a coupe of little rust bubble issues on the rockers. One issue on each side. Other then that, the car is solid. The floors and pan are solid. It’s been in Nevada since new. The chrome has some patina on it, bumpers, and hubcaps. The Ghia is still 6v and all of the electrical works perfect in the car. It has a brand new battery in it. All of the interior electrical works, clock, dome light, radio, gauges, horn, wipers etc. The original owner installed an accessory Motest tri-gauge in between the speedometer and clock. It has an amp, oil temp and fuel gauge. Everything works but the oil temp. It’s all wired in but not sure why it’s not reading. The original owner also installed some accessory little tachometer on the steering column. It works perfect too. A neat little accessory in the car. The upholstery is leather and corduroy. What would of originally came in the car. The door panels match too. The car still has some original carpet on the firewall. The carpet and rubber on the firewall was only the the early cars. The original AM radio works great. The engine and transmission are original to the car. It is the original 36hp engine with the split case transmission. They both have brand new oil in them. The engine starts up quick and runs beautifully. It idles smooths and sounds great. The transmission shifts smoothly and functions perfectly. The brakes all work great and stop well. The car has been cared for since new. It drives so nicely down the road. No rattles or squeaks. It drives like a nice, low miles Ghia. It’s such a blast to drive and everybody points and gives you a thumbs up. It turns heads everywhere you go and it’s always the hit. Overall this is a very nice Ghia. It’s not perfect. It shows some wear patina but overall this is a great car that you can get it turn the key and take it for a cruise and be proud to show it off whenever and wherever. I have all of the original manuals and books that came with the car. I have a clean and clear Nevada title in my name. I can store the car for up to a month so that shipping arrangements are made and the car is picked up. I accept, cash, cashiers check or bank transfer as forms of payment. Don’t miss out on a chance to buy a very rare, original Nevada, lowlight light Karmann Ghia. Please ask any and all questions that you may have before bidding on the car. My phone number is 775-830-6760. Thanks for looking!
