Car description

For Sale:1962 VW Bug
I rebuilt/restored this vehicle in approximately 2013…everything listed in the ad was done or replaced with the best available materials at that point (unless stated otherwise).
Clean Texas title in my name in hand.
Matching Pan and Body numbers.
The body was professionally painted satin black (not mat-black), it has 4 coats of PPG Flexed-n-Flat clear coat and gloss cream under beltline.(Original steering wheel was left alone and not refurbished but we do have a restored steering wheel that goes with the sale that matches the interior color.) For a two-tone satin/gloss finish. The car shows very well and always draws a crowd.
The logo on the side is my business and is hand-painted on doors, the buyer will have to either leave it on the doors or repaint it…we have already factored that into the value and adjusted the reserve price accordingly.
1600 (AJ Fuel Injected Block) Single Port with Mallory, Electronic ignition with Bosch Blue coil, Electric Fuel pump and regulator mounted in front under the tank.
Later model Transmission with reverse light hookup (Clutch and throw out bearing replaced last year).
The entire vehicle was rewired with all proper length, color code and termination ends, Wires spliced into the harness for the taillight hookup to work thru the Bugs taillights when being towed with a tow bar (Tow bar included in sale).
12v Bosch alternator, headlights and bulbs thruout car are 12v (Windshield wiper motor is 6v, so it either needs a voltage reducer or 12v motor upgrade).
Optima red top 12v battery.
Snowflake LED taillights.
Pans replaced.
All rubber on vehicle (every thing, glass, grommets, doors, hood, decklid, engine, etc.) replaced with German rubber, Pop-out rear windows installed.Carpet, Headliner, and Seats upholstered with TMI black vinyl and tan tweed kit. Tan tweed headliner. The entire inside of the cab and doors heavily insulated (if you knock on the roof of this car it sounds very solid). Rear pop-out windows have a small leak in heavy rains, possibly need rubbers replaced on vehicle side (not on pop-outs themselves).
Link and Kingpins replaced, Suspension is stock and rides very nice.
Coker BF Goodrich wide whitewall tires with tons of tread.
Bluetooth amp and speaker installed, amp hidden under the rear seat, 6x9 speakers mounted on the rear interior deck lid, Radio delete plate in dash. The glove box is in great shape. USB connector power wire installed for phone charging capability.
Reproduction bamboo tray installed. Flat 4 reproduction roof rack and the vintage metal 7-UP cooler goes with the sale.
The vehicle is not perfect as it is 58 years young. It is my daily driver…it truly is a daily…The motor was in the vehicle when we purchased it, all we did to the motor was pulled it out check seals, check compression, and cleaned it up. The motor is a 1600 but has some pep to it, so I do not know if it has larger pistons or possibly a small cam…whatever it is, it helps me stay up with highway traffic.
I am a perfectionist, With that being said, the vehicle does have a couple of chips in the paint. (photos show rock chip by the front hood handle, a small spot at the lower corner of driver side windshield, and a paint crack above the decklid).
Heater channels look great for a 58-year-old Bug. (photos of heater channels included…they are original heater channels and are solid for their age).
The speedometer squeaked in the dash when moving, so I unplugged the cable at the speedometer. I have no idea how many miles have been put on this vehicle since it was built in 1962, but I have put around 20K miles on the vehicle since I rebuilt it.
I have listed everything that I know of that is flawed about the vehicle…it is 58 years old and so expect things to come up for a 58-year-old vehicle.
The vehicle starts, stops, runs, and drives as it should.
The vehicle tracks properly with no pulling, and brakes straight.
Very well-presented Bug.
Sold as-is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied.
