This is a 1957 Volkswagen Beetle Slide Roof that has had a full nut and bolt restoration. This vehicle was inquired from our local VW store with a plaque that reads..
The famous Volkswagen Beetle has been in production since 1938. The idea for the Beetle was originally developed by Adolf Hitler, he contracted with Ferdinand Porsche in 1934 to design and build this unique vehicle. It took until 1938 to finalize the design, resulting in one of the first rear-engine cars since the Brass Era. The Beetle is the longest running and most manufactured car of a single platform ever made. In all there have been 21,529,464 Volkswagen Beetles produced. This car was designed for sustained high speed on the autobahn, and gave rise to variants like the KarmannGhia. In 1999 the VW Beetle was named the world's most influential car in the 20th century, and Harmony Motors is proud to have this 1957 Beetle as part of our collection.
