1974 Westfalia With ‘76 + Interior complete renew |
1974 Westfalia has the later pop top with upper bunk. This one has the much improved later cabinets. The 1974 model year also has lower or no emissions hassles (please check your states or localities laws regarding emissions testing). This is the best combination of late Bay Features. Here’s the story. I found this in AR a couple years ago, it was last tagged in 1993. It had been picked for parts and needed everything. OG cabinets were rough or missing. Body was amazingly rust free, terrific floors and original battery tray. All the glass, seals, door handles, turn signal lenses and pop top were removed and the bus was painted inside and out. It is not perfect, but is a respectable driver quality. There are several small dings that now shine. I always use my campers and these don't bother me. The interior was replaced with the deluxe (sink and stove) 1976 later cabinets and swivel base passenger seat. The refrigerator was deleted to increase storage (I always bring a cooler anyway). All the seats were reupholstered using material from the upper bunk. There are new door panels, pebble seat mats, vinyl flooring, pop top canvas, as well as door, top, and window seals. Original VW rubber mats on the front floor and between the front seats. New windshield. The fuel tank was removed and sealed with POR15 Fuel Tank Sealer. A new sender installed was installed. The engine is a freshly rebuilt 1.8 liter Type 4 engine with correct S code (big valve) cylinder heads. Original ‘74 dual carbs with new mechanical fuel pump. Excellent heater boxes with new EMPI exhaust. All new German fuel lines, Bosch cap, rotor, points, condenser, spark plug wires and spark plugs, Mahle air filter. 4 new CV boots with serviced OG German CV joints. Front and rear wheel bearings serviced. All new brake rubber lines, rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes, rebuilt front calipers with new pads. New headlights. Go Westy pop top lift assist struts make putting the top up a breeze. The bus now has 4 brand new Hankook 185r14 light truck tires which are the correct size and weight rating that VW recommended. Complete and ready to go. Includes rear mosquito screen, the rear table and leg are missing (reproductions are available out there). Lots more pics available. Please ask any questions you may have. I am trying to find the right person for this bus, price is usually the last point discussed before the sale is complete so please make sure you are ready to buy before you make an offer, I may accept it! This is a 46 year old vehicle, please make sure you are knowledgeable and prepared for the adventure! Clean MO Title. Will accept cash, wire transfer, or Certified Check. PayPal is acceptable for a deposit. Vehicle stays until funds are cleared. Happy to work with your shipper if needed. |
