This is a 1979 VW Camper Van in good condition, 2.0 air cooled. This is not the mileage, at this age I’m assuming +100. Many feature are newish. The engine was upgraded to an automatic, there is a fairly new tarp up top. It has a sink with tank and needs the motor to be updated. Lower bunk and upper bunkS to sleep 4, and I took all the covers off to wash and also scrub the mattresses. Brand new, reinforced tires with a spare in an under the sink cabinet, new battery, new foam rubber seal around the motor. Closet space, pop top slides up nicely but needs a new knob. The previous owner started painting and sanding. I got it with an ugly grey paint and immediately had it painted. It was serviced in 2019, with new oil and was told I would soon need a passenger side front strut, and advised to change out both in the front ($111 each at buyautoparts.com) but never did. This is a rare automatic transmission so it doesn’t roll backwards on hills. With this type of automatic you press down on the gear shift before starting which makes it harder to steal. It’s rusting under the battery which is very common with these old vans. I’ve only had it a year. The previous owner bought it for his wife in 2011 and then stayed garaged 2014 to 2019. I bought it from the mechanic in 2019, who had started to paint it but had no time when he opened his own shop. That’s everything I know to the best of my abilities. I can’t afford to keep this along with my everyday car right right now so I’m selling it. Happy hunting!
