Car description

Once in a lifetime opportunity to buy an original paint, practically one owner, less than 90,000 documented mile 1973 Type 3 Texas Yellow Squareback. Incredible time capsule. All records from new. All original sales records, service documentation, original title, Window Sticker, warranty book, etc, etc, etc. I have never experienced a car like this. Starts right up, shifts and drives well. All in working order. Port of Entry AC added. AC was serviced regularly per receipts and should function with a charge - needs new idle-up solenoid. 95 percent rust free as well - surface spots in a few areas. Patina is incredible and should stay 100% ORIGINAL! Extensive photos on Photobucket to document car. Oily under case - like every VW I have ever owned. Brakes need to pumped at times, lines look good, not seeing leaks, pads good, stops straight and not scary to drive at all - all other items seem to be working as they should. I would defer to a knowledgeableVW tech for old cars. I just had wheels refinished and 4 brand new 165/80-15 Radial Tires, with whitewall reps. Original trim rings and hubcaps still present and in good shape. I have a new spare dash and decided to live with the original one that has a few cracks - only original once. The rear seat material has a separation on the back seat. Interior was updated in the early 90's - front seat covers and carpet. Couple of bumps, dings and scratches, but the exterior patina and condition is incredible for age. All parts and trim accounted for - Trim replaced in 90's as well. I would never change what is present today. Just do some minor tweaks and service as needed to enjoy and show it.
Original owner was a Braniff Airline Captain. Maintained it like an aircraft. If it needed service, replacement part or update, it was done. But always to an original factory standard - No butchering, make due, rigging or neglect. He passed away in 2013. Wife passed away in 2017. No heirs or family. Car given to neighbor and I have original hand written transfer. Kept Original title and applied for duplicate. Texas issued a clear and clean "Blue Title." Car guys dream of finds like this.
Garage kept its entire life and currently in my climate controlled warehouse. I am a life long car guy and automotive business owner in Dallas. People call me with stuff like this. Always wanted a Squareback as my late father had one when I was 3 years old. Love the car and would like to keep and show, but Covid has me concerned about my business and I am not a true VW guy. Someone with a life long VW love affair deserves this car. I would guess almost no cars (VW Original Paint, One Owner, All records) like this exist? Truly a rare one. Extensive PhotoBucket album for serious buyers to review.
