1972 Volkswagen 411, 2 door, 4 speed with about 85 thousand miles (odometer broke at 83548, i.e., about an estimated 1,400 miles ago). Was bought by the second and current owner in 1998. Was completely restored in 1999. including new paint that was almost identical to the original, and new fuel lines, new suspension and break parts, and all other systems properly attended to. Has always been garaged after its restoration, and has never seen rain or snow since it was restored: has no rust. Runs but needs a new clutch, and an adjustment to its idling speed that runs high soon after you start the car. Also, when you first start the car after it has been sitting for a long time, it shows white smoke which soon stops. The driver’s seat needs to be reupholstered with all the remaining seats in good condition. The car is a solid find for someone who appreciates historical cars like this that was one of the very first with electronic ignition, and was Porsche designed, engineered, and substantially produced.
