I bought this little Bug a few months ago off off eBay and added a few final touches to it. I thought the wife would like another hardtop Beetle, and sell one of her convertibles. Well I was wrong, this one has a little too much power for her and I am offering it here for someone to give it a good home.To start with this is an absolute beautiful example of a 68. This is a body off pan restoration, and every nut and bolt was touched. The caliber of the restoration work was as good as I have seen on any classic Beetle. The interior was done in a light grey velour with matching headliner. The interior was painted with the same base coat clear coat paint that was used on the rest of the car. Its absolutely stunning. The stereo in this one will amaze any audio enthusiast. There are speakers in the front kick panels, rear deck as well as a custom enclosure that was made to hold the sub-woofer. you will be amazed at the condition of the interior overall. Speaking with the restoration shop this car was a rust free car to begin with except for battery tray area. New pans wereinstalled on both sides since the body was off. The body was blocked multiple times for a show winning paint job to be applied. As earlier stated this is a beautiful two tone base coat clear coat paint job. All panels were painted off the car so the undersides of fenders, bonnet, and decklid are all painted and paint shows as well under as it does on topside. The new polished Empi 8 spokes were installed to set off the paint job. Finned aluminum running boards were added and really stand out in the crowd. While the restoration was being done all new cal look rubber was used as well as the front doors were converted to the one piece glass. The aluminum and wooden rack was added to add the classic look. The 1915 engine in this one is a beast. I have driven it on a 30 mile ride and it performed flawlessly. this is a 94mm bore and 69mm stoke engine. The heads are Appletree 53cc performance heads with the 35.5mm and 32mm valves. the carburetoris the Weber 2 bbl progressive kit to retain street-ability. I will miss this fun and uniqueness of this car but have no more room for storage, and this one deserves to be kept under roof.
