Car description |

Stalled project. Took car to body shop for rust repair, where lights, trim etc were removed for eventual painting and problem areas under doors were cut back for welding-in of replacement parts. Then I ended up buying another Ghia, so this one is up for sale. Condition: EVERYTHING under both doors is shot; it's Swiss cheese. Area under the nose has problems too. Sanding of doors revealed bondo there. Good canvas top with glass rear window. Good BRM wheels and tires. Tranny fine. Previous owner put in a full set of 1980's VDO gauges; I've only ever used the speedo (which reads 15% fast), tach, voltmeter and fuel, so don't know if oil pressure, oil temp and cylinder head temp gauges work. Engine is out of car and complete (all tin, etc.) except for generator and carbs, which I've used for another engine. All the removed parts--door handles, trim, lights, etc--are in boxes. Most of them could use new seals. Has bumpers with overriders; there's rust/chrome flaking on left part of front bumper and spots of rust on two of the metal "bumps" on the bumpers. I'm sure the odometer has rolled a couple of times. Sold as is. Will look into shipping if someone wants. This was a FUN little car, and got lots of friendly waves, until I got the bright idea to start messing with it in July. Great project for someone with welding skills and a recent tetanus shot!

Added 11/19: I've received a few queries from Europe. Just to be abundantly clear: Buyer needs to arrange ALL shipping details, door-to-door. I don't want to get involved in delivering the car to a port or a particular shipper. The shipper needs to show up on my nice level street, with a flatbed. Also, please remember the engine is out and the doors are off; make sure your shipper is OK with that. I guess if the price gets high enough--$2000 or more--I'm willing to bolt the engine back on and re-mount the doors, if it makes shipping easier. But short of $2000 she's gotta go as is. And, obviously, the car doesn't leave until the money is in the bank. Thanks.
