Car description |

A vehicle is only original once. With this classic VW Bus our goal was to keep it looking as original and stock as possible, but also make it reliable, functional and fun. We have performed a thorough service and update while keeping with the spirit and theme of how it was before.
We absolutely love the Reef Blue color which is a bit more aqua in person than in the photos. Rather than a total re-spray, we opted to just repair what was necessary and buffed out the rest of the paint. It's far from perfect but has a very cool patina look. This bus is from the West coast and is very solid.
As with the exterior, we handled the interior the same way, replacing only what was necessary and cleaning the rest. Most notable are the new door panels and front seat upholstery.
We did three major updates to this bus which definitely add to the fun. The original sunroof did not work, so it has been replaced with a new sliding ragtop which is easy to operate and looks really cool. The existing stereo was not original and didn't work so it was replaced with a new Kenwood AF/FM/CD/Aux/BT unit and 4 new speakers. It sound great and you can actually hear it. Finally, since the bus already had some makeshift curtains, we had new new ones made and added a Z bed conversion kit to give this bus the flexibility for camping. Just imagine looking up at the stars from bed!
Mechanically, this bus needed pretty much everything. Here are a few highlights:
New battery
New, correct load rated Hancook 194/R14C tires
Rebuilt engine with new starter, relays, fresh hoses, tune up, tinwork painted etc.
Rebuilt CV axles
New brake hoses, calipers, shoes etc.
New steering damper and tie rods
Filters, belt, hoses, cables and more
We will update this list once the repair order has been finalized. There is so much more to add as this was a 2 year long project. We have included A LOT of photos to represent the bus as clearly as possible. We know many buyers will have questions that we will gladly answer. Please note that this vehicle has a clear NC title in our name. Due to the age it is exempt from odometer reporting and inspection, but should pass elsewhere. It does not have a 17 character VIN and therefore cannot get a Carfax report. Please contact us for more details or to schedule an appointment to see it person.
Auto Focus charges a $299 documentation fee and handles the title/registration process in many cases. We do not hold vehicles.
