Car description

Here is a very solid, nice, and most importantly RUST FREE 1984 Vanagon camper I have owned for almost 2 years. Van starts easily and drives nice, but I have not taken it on any long trips as lifters are noisy and it feels like it is down on power once warm. I was going to fit one of my 1.9 AHU Tdi engine conversions into this Vanagon, but found a proper Westfalia in the meantime. I need to get rid of a vehicle or two, so I thought I would see if anyone was interested in owning this great vintage camper!

I am taking best offers on this IF YOU RING ME UP on 912.4148993. Not interested in messaging back and forth on this, if you are interested, call us.

I purchased this van from a friend with the intention of re-powering it to either a 1.9 Tdi VW diesel engine (what I do with my business, Zombie Motors, here in Eugene Oregon) or maybe even converting it to Electric with an EV West kit... Then, recently, I found a rear Westfalia that I think may be a better fit for my family as it is ultimately worth more money finished up.
This van has always started immediately, and rand and drives well. HOWEVER, the engine has more lifter noise than I think is normal, and once warm, unless it is my imagination, it feels down on power. No leaks however, no oil pressure light on, no overheating, fans work as they should, all is good - But just does not feel 'right' on power and this has prevented me from attempting any road trips.

HAS A LOT OF NEW PARTS ON IT - I have replaced : brand new battery, brand new fuel pump and fuel filter, has new exhaust welded in, new windshield and seal replaced (does not leak!) and new rear brakes fitted.

As you can see, there are a lot of dents, nicks, scrapes and scratches. However, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RUST in this van. There are NO LEAKS insid, ever, and no leaks in drivetrain.

You can see the previous owner backed into something with the pop top and cracked a piece of fiberglass out of it.... Does not look good, but surprisingly does not leak at all. Ever. I just opened the pop top today to check, and upper bunk looks great and clean and dry. Upper 'canvas' in great condition, but bug screen windows are no longer intact.

Vanagon is fitted with the rare factory air conditioning ---- Air conditioning compressor has been removed, but everything else is there to fit it again and have A, front and rear.

Tires are old and tread is very thin.

PLEASE CHECK MY FEEDBACK --- I sell a couple vehicles a year here, and ship all over the USA and have good feedback. I try to give an accurate, even pessimistic description of vehicles I am selling so the buyer will be pleasantly surprised, if surprised at all.

Payment due within 5 days of end of auction, call for details. NO PAYPAL ACCEPTED, FOR ANY REASON. I do take all other forms of payment, however.

I can have this shipped across the country for about $1200-$1300.

Again, rust free, running/ driving pop top vintage VW Vanagon camper here. Interior in the rear (rear bench seat, rear-facing jump seats) need some re-covering and restuffing, but most other interior components are in good usable condition and a cleaning is all that is required. Pop top is a Riviera/ Country Homes top and lifts straight up for more headroom in the bunk. Mechanism working .

This van would be great to fix up and restore to your liking, and I suppose if it does not sell, I will likely do this myself over the winter.

If you want a Tdi turbo diesel conversion on this after you buy it from me, that is an option.
