VW DIESEL RABBIT PICKUP - 1981- 5SPD - orig owner - 60,700 mi.

THIS 1981 VW 5 SPD. DIESEL PICKUP WAS BOUGHT NEW BY MY DAD, IN 1981.I have had it stored on wood blocks, in my barn, since 1991.Although it had a new timing belt before being stored, I just had the timing belt, (and battery of course), replaced prior to starting the engine.
The vehicle has not been driven since 1991, and is not currently registered.The diesel engine runs like a Swiss (German?) watch.
Looking at the photos, you will see that the belly pan is rust free.I also have the original VW window sticker, as well as the VW manufacturer line ticket.There are no dents or scratches.This is likely the BEST - WV RABBIT DIESEL PICKUP available, and it could easily become a show vehicle.
The 5 SPD diesel will do 50 mpg.
In my opinion, this vehicle condition and rarity, make it too valuable for use as a daily driver.
