Car description |
---|
1982 Volkswagen Vanagon with a 1980 Vanagon for parts. The first five photos show the 1982 and the second five are of the 1980. The newer vehicle has no engine or transmission, but is an otherwise complete rolling body and chassis. The 1980 has an engine and transmission and runs and drives. The bodywork on the 1982 is is pretty good shape with only a few dents, The bodywork on the 1980 is really beat up, as you can see from the photos. I'm selling the two vehicles as a package because it would be an easy project to use one for parts, to put the better one on the road.
I said that one of them "runs and drives", which it does but not that well. It has good compression on all the cylinders (145-160 psi) and does start and run. I just drove it around the neighborhood today. But there is some sort of ignition problem where after 10 minutes or 20 miles or some random time or distance, the van loses power and dies. After cooling off for a while, it starts and runs again for some indeterminate time. It runs fairly well, does not smoke but does drip a little oil, I believe from the valve covers. Exhaust system has seen better days and is noisy. I would suggest towing or trailering both vehicles. Odometer on the parts car reads 56430 - no doubt 156430 miles. Clean titles on both.
Parts vehicle does not have the rear seat, only the two front seats (black and beat up) and the middle seat (brown and in good shape) The better van has a pretty good brown interior.
Both vans are in Spokane,Washington, near the city center, just a few blocks off of Interstate 90 - Exit 280.
I'll take phone calls after 6:00 PM PDT (but please no text messages - really - don't text). Call Joe at 509 992 Fifty-three Eighty-two with any questions. If you need help on my end with shipping, call me before bidding to discuss what you may need. I'll try to help.
I'd like them to be gone within seven days of the end of the auction - but if you need more time call me before bidding. I'm paying for garage space.
