Car description |
---|
Available here and for sale locally is a beautiful well cared for and documented 1977 VW Beetle Convertible with 4 speed manual transmission.
There are a ton of records that were passed along with the car that will be included with the sale that shows records going back to the early 90's where it was all over Southern California in cities such as Oceanside, San Diego, Vista, Orange, LA, Van Nuys, Burbank, and Santa Monica.
The car came to Ohio in 1998.
The most recent round of major work was performed by a well known local VW specialist in 2015 where it was switched from fuel injection to a single Carburetor, as well as lots of other maintenance including engine out R&R and new clutch and related items and lots more.
The car looks runs and drives great but there's a slight shimmy @ 60-70 MPH that is likely either inherent cowl shake that convertibles are known for and/or flat spots in the tires from sitting for periods of time from not being driven regularly.
Flat spots usually can be worked out with a 50-100 mile drive, but I've not driven the car much at all myself.
The car always starts right up, doesn't smoke or have any unusual quirks, and all signals work as well as all accessories and options.
I bought the car and decided to sell it because I already have two older Beetles and several other cars and we are thinning the fleet.
Please see my other auctions that are now active or will be shortly for a 2006 Porsche Cayman S, 2001 Eurovan Weekender, 1970 Mercedes 250 4 speed, and 1964 Cadillac Coupe DeVille.
The paint on the Beetle is in great shape as it was painted and under coated several years back.
The original color of record is apparent on the hood hinges and was a Perry wrinkle color.
The door jambs and such were also sprayed well and overall a good job.
The top is in excellent shape and works great and all seals have been replaced as well and there are no leaks when the car occasionally gets caught out in the rain.
All chrome, bumpers, trim, etc. is all in beautiful condition.
The car is pictured without hubcaps but I do have them and they're in excellent shape as well with no pitting or anything.
Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback and if you're local to the Dayton Ohio area I'd be glad to meet with any interested parties or 3rd party inspectors or appraisers as needed.
I can recommend many local shops or a mobile inspector if you want a pre purchase inspection performed at your expense.
I do have the option or right to end the auction early and cancel all bids if I find a local buyer by other advertising sources other than eBay.
I would be willing to entertain possible trade options on any of my vehicles up or down in value.
I also have a good list of shipping companies available if needed as well, but transportation is at winning bidders expense.
Thanks for the interest and I hope to find this car a loving new home and know it will be a rare rust free car that's not a usual find in the Midwest.
I can be reached at 937 258-5858 via voice or text if needed and my name is Chris.
I can provide more detailed pictures or video if anything that may be desired in more detail as needed.
Happy bidding and good luck!
