Car description

I have owned this 1971 double cab for twenty years. It was purchased new in Albuquerque and I bought it from the son of the first owner in 1997. When I bought it, it was factory white with little body damage and little rust (front floor and small bed section repair). Kustom Coachworks did the body, paint and interior. Color is 2001 Ford so color match is easy. Running gear is 3.2l Porsche 911 with triple barrel carbs and electronic ignition, custom mounts and exhaust. The heat works through stainless heater boxes. Two remote fanned oil coolers maintain good operating temperature. The engine has less than 400 miles since installation. Transmission is a 1974-76 style bus four speed. Suspension has been lowered 2" with spindles in the front. Brakes are four wheel 944 (911 pattern). Wheels are chrome Fuchs style 7x17". Tires have less than 1000 miles. There is a NOS steering box installed about 2000 miles ago. Everything in the interior works except the "B" light, it has worked in the past. The dash has trip odometer, tachometer, Custom Auto Sound radio, cigarette lighter leather wrapped steering wheel oil pressure gauge, oil temperature gauge, cylinder head temperature gauge and ambulance fans. Wiper motor was NOS, but it doesn't rain much here in the desert and has not been run much. I have an original owner's manual as well in the glove box. Roof rack is an original with reproduction mounting hardware. Pop outs in the rear are stainless steel as are the bumpers. The splash pans are in the rear bumper. Have loved this bus for many years, but since my dog died, I just don't drive it at all and I want someone to love it and make new memories in it. Paint is the weakest part and I would rate it between 6 and 7 out of 10.Please call 505 983 4461 or email me atvolksrags@netzero.comwith questions.
