Barn find with GREAT PATINA! This Bug was living in a barn when I found it. I then stored it away for many years in a storage unit.
This is a great weekend project needing new floor pans and fresheningup since it has been sitting for many years. The driver front side of floor is the worst with a partial pan required. The passengerside front is great, with very little need to replace at all. Both rear seat sections should be replaced with partial pans. The package tray area in the rear is in GREAT condition and needs nothing!! Motorturns freely andlooks ready to run, Motor will start and runs with fuel being fed to carb, the fuel system will need to be cleaned prior to running the motor on its own, motor has a new carburetor! Autostick transmission is all there, I believe, but will need service. Some lines are not connected as needed. Most people just swap these out with a standard transmission. The steeringworks very smoothly with very little play in it. Emergency brake works really well, but the normal brakes need some work, the brake fluid reservoiris dry. The suspension feels fine at all four corners. I put a test battery in and turned the key to find all lights on the dash working as they should. Even the windshield wipers work! So I believe the electrical system looks operational. NO mouse damage! PLEASE remember this is a weekend project. Seats are still fully supported on the floor, so you can sit in it. Heater boxes look great and do not need replacing. This Bug has ORIGINAL body panels and fenders. All body and chassis numbers are present and matching as they should be, meaning it is correct andALL ORIGINAL which is RARE for a classic VW of this age. This is not a Super Beetle/AKA "stupid beetle" it is a true coveted Classic Standard beetle. The top is in usable condition, but the front bow is water logged, so it has a gap in front. It is a PERFECT Parade Car that you would drive all weekendwith the top down and just put it away when the weather is bad. The last bug I had, had the same situation with the top, and I just removed the top from the front bow and installed a composite bow. Then I re-used the same top, so it is very do-able in one weekend. The headliner looks nice, just needs some cleaning or a black dye job. All glass is nice with the chrome frames complete and no pitting! All window regulators work great. Seats look nice but do have splits as you can see in the pictures. I would just slip on some covers, then the seats will be amazing, and very supportive. All door panels are present and look great, even the original ash-trays are in tact as they should be. ZERO MILES ON THE TIRES. This will be a Great Bug with a few weekends of time and some spot welding of new pans. That will really increase the value! I just have too many projects right now and a baby on the way! So this is a great opportunity for you! Clean title in hand! I will be happy to help you work with a car-hauler company, to bring this to your location. This Bug can be moved just about anywhere in the USA economically, because I am located in the middle of the US!
In closing, Please remember these key items:
Clean title in hand.Motor does run nicely. All glass and chrome frames are in super nice condition and do work, super rare!!Electrical is working as it should.Zero mile tires included with nice rims.Top is usable to keep out the rain and varmints.Original car with all Vins in place and matching.Cost of pans to get the floors back to normal is less that $500.00.With a few easy weekends of cutting and welding of pans and puttingin a new master cylinder for the brakes, you will own a Classic worth at least 10K.
Please feel free to ask any questions. I would be happy to entertain a reasonable offer.Thank you.
